I recently visited Crow's Nest restaurant near Kovalam Beach and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. While the restaurant is on the pricier side, which would be acceptable if they offered high-quality food, this wasn't the case. I ordered the prawn pollichath, but it tasted more like a meen mulakittath. The prawns were rubbery and overcooked, and the dish was overly salty. Despite this, a small portion with just 8 rubbery prawns cost over ₹500, which felt unreasonable given the poor quality. If the food matched the price in terms of taste and quality, it would have been justifiable. Make matters worse, the service was slow, with a noticeable delay in getting our food. While the restaurant is clearly focused on foreign tourists, and I understand that tourism can often come with a higher price tag, the quality of the food didn’t justify the cost. What bothers me most is that even foreign tourists, who may be paying for a taste of Kerala's traditional cuisine, are being served such subpar dishes. It makes me uncomfortable to think that these overpriced, poorly made meals could leave tourists with a bad impression of Kerala's rich and diverse food culture. Came across this cafe right opposite to Kovalam beach and had the BEST experience ever! Beautiful ambience, love the wall art and the sea facing area, it was lovely to have dinner with a sea facing view. I'd also like to point out how great the customer service was! The entire staff was very accomodating, friendly and approachable people.

Crow's nest is the right place to go, especially if you're looking for a place to conduct a birthday party/birthday celebration, right by the sea. There are only very few places where you'll get cakes near the beach and CnC is one of them. My friends and I decided to order their signature chocolate cake and honestly, it was AMAZING! A very simple, light, moist chocolate cake, with the right amount of sugar and it was freshly baked. They waited till late night so we can carry on with our birthday celebration even after it was time for them to close their cafe.They also gave us a chocolate-strawberry pie to taste and it was bursting with flavours! I really loved the texture of the pie and the pricing of all the cakes were reasonable too.

Apart from the cake, we tried their lemon iced tea, chicken fried rice and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were spot on and the rest were good.
