Highlights:: Initially impression was good. However when time runs experience became pathetic.
Yesterday we visited Ballygunge dhaba AKA Walia Dhaba. After entering initially experience was quite good however no seperate washroom is there one basin attached with kitchen only present.
We order Fried Rice , Masala Kulcha and Mutton Item. Food was so tasty and delicious. So while eating told them to make it two. And waiting for food times run many times ask they informed about to ready , just ready etc. after 40-50min we told how many time needed we're waiting for long on empty plates. Then waiter said he thought we told him to pack. We thought fine it's miscommunication from both side. However from my experience this kind of situation didn't face earlier in any resturant. As we're hurry we couldn't finish out food so totally wasted. During hand wash we found same issue with our beside table they asked from special biriyani but served normal biryani later they when they told about where is egg they just provide an egg later they told we've ordered special biriyani.
This is really pathetic experience. And we'll never visit further future and no recommended to anyone.

📍 Location: Right at Ballygunge Phari More 📅 Visited Multiple Times (Because food is love!)
Ballygunge Dhaba is one of those age-old gems that has stood the test of time, serving quality North Indian food in the heart of Kolkata. If you’re a fan of Makki Ki Roti & Sarson Ka Saag, winter is the best time to visit. They also serve fantastic rolls, but be prepared—the prices are really, really high!
Today's Lunch Adventure
Since Ballygunge Dhaba is close to my office, I dropped in for a quick lunch today and ordered Mutton Butter Masala with Naan.
✅ Mutton: Tender and well-cooked. ❌ Gravy: Could have been better—lacked that rich, buttery depth I expected.
What I Recommend?
On my previous visit, I had the Mutton Keema Masala, and that was absolutely fantastic! So, if you’re here for mutton, Mutton Keema Masala is the best bet.
Quick Notes:
✔️ Quality & Quantity: Good. ✔️ Service: Quick. ✔️ Food Freshness: No complaints. ❌ Price: High compared to other restaurants in the area.
Next Time Plans
I’m curious to try their Traka and Chicken Tikka Butter Masala—will keep you posted!
Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3.5/5 (Good food, but expensive!)
Would I return? Yes, but with my wallet prepared...
Read moreVisited this place with friends around 9 PM. After searching for vacant table and settling down, waited for 10 mins just to get someone to notice us. We ordered jeera rice, dal tadka, rumali roti, butter tandoori roti and mutter paneer. After a wait of 1 hour, we were thinking to quit the place when the waiter promised us that the food is almost ready. After another 10 minutes we got served. Food quality and quantity was good. When we complained about the delay the waiter narrated a biography that he was the only waiter for the entire floor and their service priority went to bigger families and those who had been waiting for long time. But after this ordeal he took better care of our orders. A slightly disappointing experience, however I would chance another visit if possible at a later time when they're...
