Noodle Mee — Local services in Kolkata

From the time this Pandemic has started, work from home and also cooking at home are really making us tired and monotonous. Our homes feel like workplaces now. Only work work work, be it household, office, looking after pets, etc. We have almost forgotten what it used to be to go out, hangout with friends, get ourselves pampered. Still many of us are really afraid to go out to eat at restaurants and Cafes, in order to avoid any kind of infection from crowds or poor hygeine of any place. To provide us with a sigh of relief in this matter, many cloud kitchens have opened up recently to ease our work of cooking and delivering us with delicious, safe and hygienic food at our doorsteps with no-contact delivery. After the hectic weekdays of work from home, I don't feel like to cook at home on Weekends. I feel very lethargic and wish if some great cooked food could be served to me. I was really in mood for having something from Chinese Cuisine for a change. So thought of ordering from Noodle MEE, as their tagline goes "Delectable Chinese and Thai Cuisine delivered at your doorstep", which was quite interesting and thought of why not give it a try. Items I ordered —

Stuffed Mushroom Garlic Pepper — Fresh, juicy, crispy succulent mushrooms stuffed, sautéed with veggies and sauces. I really loved it, very differently cooked with kind of meaty texture.

Crispy Chilli Honey Potato — One of my favorite snack items of all times. Crispy fried potatoes sautéed in perfect blend of sauces. Spinach and Cheese Wantons — This I tried for the first time as the name intrigued me. Small crisp fried pockets stuffed with Spinach and melting cheese. This was absolutely amazing in taste and droolworthy.

Veg Steam Momos — I also wanted to try their momos. Non veg momos are usually always delicious without much efforts but in veg momos it requires the correct stuffing of veggies and spices. Their veg steam momos did keep up to my expectations and were really good in taste. They were stuffed with onions, carrots, cabbage, capsicum and the dumplings neatly shaped and perfectly steamed.

Chilli Garlic Noodles (Veg) — Very common item and easily available everywhere, but it was still really great in taste.

My friends had come over to my home and they prefer non veg. So for them I had ordered — Burnt Garlic Rice, Devil's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Steam Momos, Bomb Chilli Chicken, Sesame Chilli Chicken, Chilli Garlic Noodles (Chicken). They too found the respective dishes to be mouth watering delicious, very different in taste and appreciated the cooking style. The items are priced at very reasonable rates considering both the quality and quantity. Their packaging is very neat and spillproof, provided with cutlery, tissues and condiments of the respective dishes. Till a few months back, when one thought of a cloud kitchen serving restaurant style Chinese and Thai food, the first name that would come to your mind would be of Noodle MEE. Eating food from Cloud Kitchen on Chowringhee during my college days is from where it all started. The striking feature about this brand is the quantity of their food. 1 plate is sufficient for 2 pax. My friend and I could never manage to finish the full plate of noodles, no matter how much we stuffed. Mind you the food was delicious back then too. There was a time when we ate thrice a week from this outlet. Noodle Mee, coming from the same kitchen is a more sort after brand and their food is too good. I have tried their starters and love their wantons and cheese cigars. Recently, Mr. Vishal Marwaha sent us some dinner and it was a feast for us at home. Let me take you through the menu and am sure you will be ordering soon to satisfy your cravings.

✓Singapore five spice fish - The fish was fresh and was only lightly battered which I loved the most. The Asian spices used made the full dish flavourful with a strong garlic and spring onion flavour. It's the right starter to choose which is tasty and fresh. ✓Chicken khousuey - I have been craving for good khousuey forever! This was just perfect, flavourful gravy with a whole lot of chicken and the condiments which enhanced the flavour. There are plenty of places serving this dish but somehow most places cannot make it well. The consistency was perfect and so were the well balanced spices used. ✓Thai green curry with basil steamed rice - Anyone who knows me, know how much I love Thai cuisine. This green curry was so smooth and is a favourite of mine cause they just used mushrooms, chicken and basil without adding excessive amount of veggies. This was so so good and was perfectly complimented with the steamed rice with a fresh basil fragrance. ✓Hongkong chicken - A soy based gravy with chicken strips and bell peppers. Again the quantity was a lot and tasted as a perfect side for the noodles and rice. ✓Egg hakka noodles - The hakka noodles was delicious and I really relished it. Something I have been missing since the start of lockdown, a simple egg hakka. This 1 plate is enough for 2 pax like I mentioned earlier. ✓Burnt garlic non-veg rice - The rice was well made and I love fried rice which is white in colour. It was well balanced and cooked fresh. Totally a favourite main!

The best part about the brand is that they don't compromise with quality and that's what helps them to earn the goodwill. I have eaten several times from this place right from the time they started and have never felt that there is a change in taste or quality. Sunday Gala time with friends can never go wrong with Chinese, only if it is cooked well. So, we ordered it from Noodle MEE and it turned out to be good.

*Cheese Spinach Wontons - They were absolutely amazing. It was warm enough to let the taste buds enjoy its flavours. I would prefer to have it more hot. *American corn salt N pepper - The veggies were well sauteed and the corn were crisp. Even though this dish is regular one, not every place can make it right. I liked it here. *Veg Hakka Noodles - These noodles were fine, something was missing in it tho. But found it better than few places hyped places in Kolkata.

I am giving them a 3.5 star, though it's not happening with the stars. So mentioning it. Well, since I was little disappointed with the slow service I took away a star and there is always room for improvement so a half star for that.
