Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is regarded as one of the hidden gems of Kolkata. A small place having less than 20 seats with an old Chinese restaurant ambience. Once you enter you you will find a beautiful Aroma which will enhance your appetite. We ordered the following : Chicken lung fun soup this tested due to excellent. The soup at the fluffy egg floating on the top of the soup and beneath it is the real chicken soup the taste is something to cherish.(4/5) Chicken coriander soup this was okay to taste the flavour of coriander was a bit high and hence diluted the flavour of the soup.(3/5) Smoke chicken barbecue this was again the chicken was a bit hard from inside and had the barbecue sauce flavour at the outset (3/5) Chilli garlic noodles this was really tasty it had the Aroma of garlic as well as the Chile mixed beautiful along with chunks of chicken and vegetables.(4.5/5) Chicken chilli garlic fried rice this was the best dish out of the once we order the fried rice was beautifully blended with the aroma of chilly & garlic chicken, vegetables and it had an amazing taste and wad pretty juicy (5/5). Tibetan special chicken fried rice this was almost equally good as the fried rice it had fried egg over the rice along with pork, mushroom, corn, chicken & vegetables which you can either try or you can go only for the chicken or mixed fried rice(5/5). Shanghai chicken - this was not good. The gravy was light but they put in dry cashews over the preparation instead of frying and tossing it in the gravy. Hence not recommended.(2/5) Fish in hot garlic sauce - this was better and you can try it with a main course. The fish is basa and tasted good and fresh. Still it can be improved to better its flavour (3/5). All the side dishes have 8 pieces so that is helpful to segregate. At the end, I will request everyone reading this review to visit this place and have their rice and noodles. Its economical and tasty. Our total bill was 1750/- which is reasonable given the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with this reputed Tibetan restaurant had been nothing more than average. Situated inside a narrow alley, the Tibetan Delight restaurant can become a bit tricky to find for the first-time visitors. After stepping inside the building, there is a tiny room on the left side, with limited seating capacity, which is the dining hall. The room is completely 'Red' and all you can see is red light everywhere. Infact, the food that you will order will also look absolutely red, because there is no bright white lighting facility available there, which I personally did not like, as it became difficult to properly locate the food. Aesthetics should never overshadow convenience. Now, I ordered a plate of Thukpa, which is one of the popular Tibetan delicacies. The quantity that was served simply did not do justice to the price of the dish. I could hardly find a few tiny pieces of meat, alongwith noodles and some vegetables in it. However, the taste and quality were satisfactory. Now coming to the part of 'values & ethics', I ordered a plate of Thukpaš, without looking at the menu, because I had already pre-decided that I will try out a plate of Thukpa. After finishing the food, I requested the waiter-boy to bring me the bill. He verbally told me to pay ā¹160 and I handed him a ā¹200 note. While waiting for my balance amount, I was casually glancing through the menu & to my utter surprise I discovered that the price of the Thukpa was ā¹150 and not ā¹160. The waiter-boy overcharged me, just because I did not see the menu and he took advantage of that. Later, when I questioned him, he said sorry and not to inform his boss. So, it was a sort of mixed experience that I had in this restaurant. But, if you can overlook the shabby ambience, poor lighting and the possibility of getting ripped off, then you can treat yourself to some decent and authentic Tibetan/Chinese cuisine. Not highly...
