This bar is less than a year old but can already compete with the biggest names in the city. I visited on a late Saturday afternoon and was not surprised to find myself the lone patron there. The interiors are amazing. The dilapidated interiors, wood and leather furniture, and low lighting created a wonderful ambience. The music was mostly R&B and soul. I really appreciated the hooks underneath the bar counter from where you could hang your bags. The alcohol collection is impressive. Although it's not strictly a cocktail bar, they do have some of their signature mixes. I started with a Crystal Clear; gin and absinthe, along with milk and cream resulted in an absolutely clear and herbal drink. It's perfect for someone who doesn't want to go heavy. Uh Huh; you don't usually see Limoncello on a Kolkata bar menu, but when mixed with amaro, vermouth and brandy it renders a delicious mix, especially with the pickled Californian grape. Tough Love; it's a tale of infused spirits and liqueurs that talks mainly about cardamom infused Campari, but would please those who like a bitter cocktail. They have a decent collection of Indian liquors as well. I tried shots of Camikara and Makazai. They even offered me their housemade grapefruit soda which was really light. When it comes to food, I tried the Duck Scotch Egg, which was spicy but delicious. The Chicken Cutlet was tender and just perfect. The prices are a bit high but that's to be expected. I would really recommend this place to someone who wants to have a drink in peace, or to a group who wants to have conversation...
Read moreThe interiors of the space is very cool and rustic, the bar set up looks great. I Have a major complaint about the service provided on a Tuesday evening which had about 10 guests around so NOT busy at all. The waiters are NOT trained at all, they literally had no idea what to do seemed like the management has picked up boys of the road to serve the guests with zero hospitality background, which essentially ruins the mood and the vibe of the place. The plating of the food was also strange, everything was served in miniature bowls and plates- not convenient especially for bar bites and optically looks tiny given the very steep prices of food and drinks. To the Management of Conversation Room: kindly train your lost boy waiters, they are ruining the mood and for the pricing of the service charge which is exorbitant , this is...
Read moreRounding off at 3.5 The ambience is great. The music (mostly) low key to facilitate conversations (this the name), the service is warm and friendly. What’s isn’t good is the food. The food to be quite honest is terrible. We ordered The Pan Seared Sea Bass and Chicken liver pâté & Grilled Skewers in small plates, the fish was Ok at best, the chicken liver pâté strongly smelled of coconut oil, the only good item was the skewers. From the larger plates we ordered Street style noodles which was okay. From dessert section we ordered the pistachio cannoli, I have no idea why it’s called so when is was simply a crispy shell stuffed with greasy dense cream with a sprinkle of...
