I went for lunch to this place looking for authentic Punjabi cuisine and I was not disappointed. But let me strictly advice you not to order anything from their chinese menu. The chinese menu is pretty mediocre at the place and will not please you if you have high expectations. Rather go for their punjabi menu. We ordered Chicken Tandoori and chicken lahsooni kebabs as starters. The chicken was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. Loved it. Then we tried changing our directions by ordering soup which was a bad idea. It didn't meet our expectations. Though it wasn't not that bad but not worthy enough for a compliment. For main course, we ordered Dal Makhni, masala kulcha, garlic naan, chicken tikka butter masala, basmati rice and chicken bharta. Out of all these, the Dal Makhni stood out completely and was right on spot with a perfect 10. The taste was authentic, went perfectly with the garlic naan and I would gave given 5 stars if I was rating them only for their Dal Makhni. The chicken bharta would follow next in the ranking order in the main course. The taste and proportion were good and I wouldn't complain about anything in that. The garlic naan was indeed a good choice of bread for the food ordered but the masala kulcha and the chicken tikka butter masala kind of failed to impress. The masala kulcha was bland with too much of potatoes in it. It felt like it was trying to aim for both an Aloo paratha as well as a kulcha but failed both sides. The Chicken tikka butter masala was okaish. Nothing significant to compliment in that. The service is good. Ambience is decent. Overall, if you are looking for authentic north indian cuisine, strictly order north indian cuisine and you won't be disappointed.

Dear Readers, Jai Hind Dhaba happens to be near by my place and we often visit here. It is a three storey sitting area and can visit with family and friends also. It's like our go to place. We always order our favourite butter chicken, chicken bharta and Butter naan. Today happened to visit with friends and family. So, along with our usual, we have also ordered kadai paneer, rumali roti, masala kulcha, fish tikka masala, mixed fried rice and garlic chicken. You gotta end it up with kulfi. The quality is really great, they make sure to add butter on top of all your indian dishes, and the flavour and spices are so perfect. The quantity is just the perfect that none can complain. The cost is affordable and justifies the taste and the quantity. You can also ask for cold drink too along with your food. They serve real quick. I would definitely recommend you to visit and taste the yumm food there.

After hearing about it so much from so many, finally decided to visit. Finally the turn came after half an hour, We ordered one day makhni and masala onion and paneer tikka at first. The food especially the day makhni was so horrible according to all four of us that we decided never to order and visit again. We couldn't even finish the food. It was so bad. Uploading the pic of the unfinished food in the plate.šŸ˜‘ Feeling little amused to update my review on 6th October, 2022. I had to visit the place because of some relatives, I couldn't say no and this time we ordered tadka, kulcha, aloo paratha, etc. The food and my experience this time was not as bad like the last time , but not even wow. The food was less spicy, not too tasty! I have visited certain dhabas in Bhawanipore itself which serves better food than this one. Anyways experience was much better than last timešŸ‘.

This place has always been one of my favourites and whenever I am in Kolkata I do try to visit atleast once. However, I recently dined at Jai Hind Dhaba and had a mixed experience. Let's start with the positives—the food and service were commendable as always. The menu offered a range of delicious North Indian dishes that were flavorful and well-prepared. I had tried mutton dishes like Mutton Rogan Josh and Mutton Keema and they were excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient in taking our orders and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere at the dhaba was disappointing. I was seated on the first floor family section where a group of boys was causing a lot of nuisance by shouting and being disruptive, which greatly affected the overall ambiance. It was disheartening that the management did not address this issue promptly, as it had a negative impact on the dining experience of other guests. We had to change our table and chose to sit at one corner. The constant noise and disturbance created an uncomfortable environment, making it difficult to enjoy the meal and have a relaxed conversation. In summary, while Jai Hind Dhaba excelled in terms of food quality and attentive service, the lack of a peaceful atmosphere due to disruptive behavior from some guests dampened the overall experience. I hope the management takes steps to address such situations in the future, ensuring a more pleasant dining environment...

JAI HIND DHABA had stood the test of time. I remember gorging on Jai Hind for lunches during my school days. The taste has remained very similar. The quality has remained consistent. While the prices rose , so did their multi storeyed restaurant! There's something about Jai Hind , be it the overcrowded Non Ac Section , bustling with Delivery orders. They'veve got 3 AC sections (G+2) and they're overcrowded for Dinner. The best part of the restaurant is the fact that they're open till the wee hours of the morning. They're unaffected by the midnight curfew rules. The vegetarian fare that I would recommend is : 1.Special Dal Tarka/Double Chilli (Egg) Tadka 2.Paneer Tikka Butter masala in Orange Gravy Roomali Roti (don't get anything else when delivered) 4.Aloo Do Pyaza(Sweet decent) 5.Crispy Chilli Babycorn

I've tried the chicken and I've found the Chicken Bharta , Chicken Butter Masala & Egg curry too be of standard taste. But the vegetarain food here is LEGENDARY! IT'S HANDS DOWN THE BEST DHABA FOOD AVAILABLE LATE AT NIGHT. P.S. THE QUALITY AT BOTH OUTLETS , HAZRA & PADDAPUKUR...
