Today visited Kolkata Uncut for their ₹499 unlimited buffet and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience.
The spread included fish fry and dry chilli chicken as starter, both of which were tasty, though the fish wasn’t Kolkata bhetki and the chicken was served with bone. The luchi and alur dom were perfectly cooked and delicious. Among the main course, steamed rice, dal, and potol bhaja stood out for their authentic Bengali flavors.
The rui macher sorshe and mutton curry were highlights of the meal — generous portions of fish and meat cooked in rich, flavorful gravies reminiscent of traditional Bengali home-style cooking.
The pulao had a pleasant sweetness, though it was slightly dry and not made with Gobindobhog rice.
For dessert, the plastic chutney and Gobindobhog chaler payesh were both delightful finishes to the meal.
A welcome drink or an additional dessert option (like ice cream) could make the experience even better.
Overall, it’s a great value buffet can rate with 4.5/5 points with authentic flavors, well-maintained ambience, and...
Read moreWe had a truly satisfying experience at this restaurant during a colleague’s Aaiburobhat celebration. Although they mentioned they don't officially offer an Aaiburobhat thali, they went the extra mile by beautifully arranging the entire buffet to resemble one. They even included special touches like a whole Katla macher matha, panch rokom bhaja, and all the traditional elements we hoped for—phooler mala, topor, paan pata, durba, and prodip.
Despite being a new restaurant, they impressed us with the warmth and attention to detail usually seen in much older, well-established places. The buffet, priced at ₹499 + GST, was excellent. The fish fry was absolutely lip-smacking, the mutton was soft, juicy, and flavorful, and every dish tasted fresh and delicious.
I will definitely visit again. Best wishes to...
