I have been visiting The Astor Hotel and Phoenix Club since 2009, and for many years on the trot now, I have been provided with a loyalty membership since its introduction by invite. I regarded this establishment as a trusted and respectable venue.

Regrettably, my recent experiences have been both concerning and alarming: • Wrongful billing by staff, sometimes seemingly intentional, when they miss charging the concerned customer. This often leads to arguments, and staff attempt to take advantage of the situation, presuming patrons are under the influence or forgetful. • Lousy and vulgar comments exchanged among staff inside the bar service area, which has prompted confrontations from patrons, often escalating into verbal spats. • Rude and unprofessional conduct from certain staff. • Security staff soliciting tips, creating a compromised environment. Those who comply appear to receive undue advantages, including entry in large male groups, who then target couples and groups where women are present.

Most regular patrons would, I am certain, agree with the concerns mentioned here and have faced similar hardships. Many have witnessed repeated incidents of aggressive behaviour and misconduct, which have unfortunately altered the atmosphere. The clientele has shifted from a once affluent and refined base to a noticeably less discerning and disorderly crowd.

Despite several formal complaints made, the management has remained entirely unresponsive. For a property of such heritage, this silence is most disappointing and raises genuine concerns about guest safety, professional standards, and overall atmosphere.

Until the management addresses these issues transparently and responsibly, I would urge fellow citizens and travellers to exercise caution when considering The Astor Hotel and Phoenix Club, as it no longer reflects the secure and reputable environment it once...

I had an incredible experience at Phoenix, Kolkata where DJ Rudra_Kollective played a mesmerizing techno set! The entire night was an absolute delight from start to finish. The trippy ambiance added an extra layer of excitement to the evening, and the crowd was fantastic - full of energy and enthusiasm.
