The food is on point and that what makes it such a great place to dine at. We ordered a chef's special pizza and didn't ask the price. We had to pay double the amount that of the regular pizzas for that. Next thing we order was Belgian waffles. The dish was dipped in chocolate sauce and was heavenly. They also provided a small bowl of hot chocolate sauce which just made the day. Hot chocolate is also a great choice. However, if you feel queasy after all the chocolate but still want to taste the hot chocolate, they will be generous enough to serve one hot chocolate in two seperate glasses so that two people ca share. The amount is quite fulfilling and one can be satisfied with it.
The ambiance is very refreshing. It is ideal for early morning breakfasts. The roof is made of glass and the place is lit by sunlight in the day, with dim lighting at night. The seats were sort of fine but there is one table with sofa to sit on.
The staff are very polite and well-behaved. They would readily explain how to get at a dish if you're new to it, or in our case, how to help ourselves to the chef's special. However, we did have to wait for a considerable amount of time for someone to take our order and then serve us.
The two big cons of this place is that they have no washroom, not even a place to wash hands. Everyone's carrying sanitizers but soap and water is always more assuring over that. The second gripe would be lack of parking space. Being a small outlet, just beside the main road, finding a spot to park is quite challenging. On top of that, Kolkata Police is quite active in issuing challan in this area for parking in a no parking zone (makes for quite an...
Read moreVegetarian! Piccadelly Square is totally Vegetarian! It's a tragedy that I had this entire folder of my visits which I never talked about! Piccadilly Square happens to be one of my favourite cafes in Kolkata, a true vegetarians paradise! As you can guess from my order, this visit was all the way back in January, when I had probably the best Waffle Flavour ever! Out of their two outlets that I know of, the one on Sarat Bose Road has an inviting decor and is adorned with vintage lamps and beautiful paintings. The cafe serves some of the best waffles, pasta, pancakes and cheesecakes in the city. Order some sandwiches, followed by crêpes accompanied by English tea, and finish off your delicious food journey with freshly made waffles. My order: ❗Pita Chips 4/5 ❗Nolen Gur Waffles 5/5 ❗Blueberry Cheesecake 4.5/5
🧇 Choco Dynamite Waffle: A symphony of textures awaits with a crispy exterior, gooey center, and chocochip explosion, perfectly complemented by a luscious Belgian chocolate dip.
🍫 Nuts about Nutella Crepe: Satisfy your cravings with a delightful combination of the beloved Nutella spread enveloped in a warm, thin crepe, creating a heavenly treat that never disappoints.
🥞 Blueberry Pancakes: A signature delight that promises a wild dessert experience, these fluffy pancakes adorned with plump blueberries will transport your taste buds to a realm of pure bliss.

Read moreI had gone to Piccadilly after my wife had recommended this cafe. We ordered a Burrata Pizza. The Burrata Pizza was terrible. The Burrata was stale and old. In fact it was really hard. Though the staff was kind enough to change the pizza. And we replaced the pizza with a normal pesto pizza (which did taste nice). We ordered a bruschetta which lacked olive oil in it. After asking the staff thrice for the olive oil no one bothered to give it to us. While the cafe had 8 staff and just my wife and I in it (giving it a ratio of 4:1). Meanwhile our coffees were served while we were still waiting for the olive oil. After this chaos one of the server, Avishek Balmiki had the audacity of coming and telling us that your Cappuccino is ready and you can’t return it just because the oil has not arrived. Mr Avishek in fact raised his voice and tried to put the blame on us for the delay in oil. You can’t expect us to have our coffee before we finish our meal. Mr Avishek lacks the basic decency that is expected out of a server. You are in the hospitality industry and cannot afford to lose your cool for a mistake made from your end. The food was decent but our experience was terrible. Will not recommend the cafe to anyone looking for a decent culinary experience. The owners should really educate the staff on basic etiquette and manners. Though I would not blame everyone for the fault for one persons...
