We booked our flight from Oslo-Bangkok, Bangkok - Koh Samui and return in July 2024. Our experience was a mixture of good and bad.

The aircraft itself was great. Enough space in Economy class, the seats were comfortable, and there were screens at every seat with a nice selection of movies and series to enjoy during the flight. A pillow, a fleece blanket and new earplugs were placed on the seats of every passenger. The flight attendants were professional and friendly. Before departure, they confirmed with us that we had ordered a special meal (for instance lactose free or low sodium).

However, the logistics and communication around the connecting flights was stressful and dissappointing, unfortunately. A tip is to make sure you have at least 3-4 hours between your flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui, in case there are any delays and so you don't miss your flight. Also in case Thai Airways decide to change departure time.

Our flight from Oslo was delayed, and consequently we arrived later in Bangkok than anticipated. The flight attendants told us the Koh Samui flight wouldn't leave without us as we had checked in, and that when we landed we would be met by airport staff with signs telling us where to run. We did so, only to be directed to a desk with Thai Airways and Bankok Airways, and miss our flight. When asking Thai Airways what to do and where our luggage is, they seemed unsure what to tell us. The initial message was to wait by the gate of Bangkok Airways with flights to Koh Samui all day, in case there would be a passenger who didn't show up - so we could take their spot. After some discussion, it finally concluded with us receiving our luggage, and being booked for a flight to Koh Samui the following morning with Bangkok Airways, and Thai Airways covering our hotel bill in Bangkok, including breakfast, luch and dinner. This was of course greatly appreciated, but the communication was very stressful and confusing.

On our way from Koh Samui to Bangkok, we discovered that the departure time from Bangkok to Oslo had been changed, without us knowing. That meant we had maximum 1 hour from landing in Bangkok to catch the flight to Oslo. As a result, we had to sprint for ca 15 minutes through the airport, guided by a poor and stressed staff member who tried to help us the best she could. Even though we were told we didn't have to go through securtiy, we still had to do it. Overall, the communication and experience with interconnecting flights was very stressful and lacking. We had no idea Thai Airways could suddenly change the time of the flight, had we known we would definately made sure that we'd have at least 3-4 hours to avoid...

Pls train your ground staff/ air india contractors , no clue about luggage , items allowed and visa rules. It gets unpleasant of novices sit and ask dumb questions or advise on rules: e.g. Cant take tennis racquet As cabin baggage.
