Overview:
Sufi Palace, nestled near the iconic College Street Boipara (Book Market) in Kolkata, offers a delightful culinary journey. It's not just about the food; it's the fantastic ambiance and the overall quality of the restaurant that adds to the charm.
Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I entered Sufi Palace, I was captivated by the enchanting ambiance. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting decor, making it an ideal spot for a memorable dining experience. The well-thought-out interior design creates an inviting and cozy atmosphere.
Starter: Murg Angara Kebab (6 pcs) - Rs 320 (including GST): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We kicked off our meal with the Murg Angara Kebab, and it was nothing short of excellent. Each piece of the kebab was a burst of flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. These kebabs were a testament to Sufi Palace's commitment to quality. Highly recommended.
Main Course: Special Mutton Biryani - Rs 400 (including GST) & Normal Mutton Biryani - Rs 290 (including GST): ⭐⭐⭐ In the main course, we opted for the Special Mutton Biryani and the Normal Mutton Biryani. While the kebabs set a high standard, unfortunately, the mutton pieces in both biryanis didn't quite meet expectations. In the Special Mutton Biryani, one mutton piece was notably fatty, while the other was just average. The quality of mutton was subpar, and the aloo (potato) was also only okay. The Normal Mutton Biryani didn't fare much better; the mutton pieces were unremarkable. Sufi Palace has room for improvement in this department.
Dessert: Shahi Tukda - Rs 130 (including GST): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ For dessert, we indulged in Shahi Tukda, which was truly delightful. The dish was rich and satisfying, though the price was slightly on the higher side for a standard serving. Nonetheless, it provided a sweet conclusion to the meal. Green Salad - Rs 50 (including GST): We also ordered a green salad, which was a refreshing side and added a healthy touch to the meal.
Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff at Sufi Palace were truly praiseworthy. Their service was prompt and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to assist with recommendations was commendable. Overall Impression: Sufi Palace near College Street is a fantastic restaurant, primarily known for its great ambiance and delicious kebabs. While the biryanis left something to be desired, the rest of the dining experience was enjoyable. The staff was courteous and attentive, making the visit a pleasant one. If you find yourself near College Street and in search of a quality restaurant, Sufi Palace is a great choice. Do try their kebabs and other offerings, as they shine brighter than the biryanis. This was my fifth visit, and despite some minor drawbacks, I had an overall...

Now, let's dive into the food. I had the opportunity to try several dishes that left a lasting impression on me. Starting with the Chicken Angara Kabab, it was a true delight. The kababs were succulent and perfectly charred, with a smoky flavor that was truly appetizing. The spices were well-balanced, creating a rich and aromatic taste that lingered on the palate.
Next, I sampled the Chicken Achari Kebab, and I must say it was a standout dish. The chicken was tender and infused with tangy and spicy flavors, reminiscent of achaar (pickle). The kebabs were expertly marinated, resulting in a delicious combination of textures and tastes. It was a true treat for my taste buds.
Moving on to the Special Mutton Biriyani, I was impressed by the fragrant aroma that wafted from the plate. The biryani was cooked to perfection, with each grain of rice separate and flavorful. The mutton was tender and well-spiced, blending harmoniously with the rice and aromatic spices. It was a truly satisfying biryani experience.
To accompany our meal, we ordered the Kabuli Naan. The naan was soft and fluffy, with a hint of sweetness from the raisins and a delightful crunch from the nuts. It complemented the dishes perfectly and was a great addition to the overall meal.
Lastly, we tried the Chicken Tengri Masala. The chicken was cooked in a rich and flavorful tomato-based gravy. The spices were well-balanced, and the chicken was tender and moist. The masala had a perfect blend of spices, and every bite was a burst of flavors. It was a satisfying and comforting dish, perfect for those who enjoy a good chicken curry.
Overall, Sufi Palace Restaurant in Kolkata offers a remarkable dining experience with its delicious and well-prepared dishes. The Chicken Angara Kabab, Chicken Achari Kebab, Special Mutton Biriyani, Kabuli Naan and Chicken Tengri Masala were all exceptional in terms of taste, presentation, and quality. Read moreTHIS IS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD WITH A RESTAURANT .The ambiance, behaviour, food and payments everything was not just bad but it was humiliating. Starting from the ambiance , on the eve of Durga Puja when me and my buddies went to have lunch there we found that the AC of the dining place was not good at all and the worst part is when we requested them to bring the temperature down, they behaved like we don't exist and no one took the initiative to even confirm that it was working at low temperature or not. Now coming to the food quality , we ordered Crispy Chicken as the starter and when we took the bite we realised that the taste was very full and it was not Crispy at all. Now for the main course we ordered Egg Fried Rice(It was good in quality and quantity) , Masala Kulcha( It was like a rooti with spiceless mashed potato as a filling which tasted very bad) , Chicken Patiala( Average in taste not very good), Chicken Bharta ( Very bad in taste and the chicken pieces that were used were not proper for bharta ). The fun part is when the waiter served us the food he did not even knew which dish is what and mixed the names of the chicken dishes up. Coming to the behaviour of the staff , we felt HUMILIATED and DISRESPECTED to say the least. Among 4 of us who went there , 2 of us were done with the disgusting food and the rest of us were having the food as the did not want to waste it but the guy was in a hurry to make us leave the place and he tried to snatch our plates , infact he tried to snatch the plate of one of us who had food in his plate. This was disgusting af. The guy was in persuade to make us leave the place so that he can accommodate the next bunch of people. Lastly coming to the payment option ,they accept only card and cash. No option for online payment is available to them. Which is also a dissatisfaction in this modern era. Lastly for the conclusion i would say, I WOULD NEVER EVER...
