Back in 90s, when Gulzar Saab scripted a beautiful song Satrangi Re for the movie Dil se, seldom did we know that one fine day, the owner would be choosy enough to pick up a particular urdu word 'UNS' amongst those lines and define it in the shape of a pretty aesthetic cafe.

An oasis of serenity around this bustling city, Uns Cafe aims to portray love, care, beauty & affection. "You will have a reason to come back here again", says the owner and I couldn't have agreed more. Rightly felt, Uns is not only about good food, but also pouring your heart out, it's about companionship. In every hook & corner, there lies a story to narrate, a couple of anecdotes that tickles your fancy and questions you. Tinges of iceberg blue & white pastel shades all over, sparks an infatuation gazing like a dream and lifting your mood up with a good taste of background music. That effulgence in the main glinted photogenic section of Uns charms us with a collection of quaint works in the form of bottles paintings, oregamis, frames, etc. exhibited for purchasing. Beside that, what will leave you dazzled are some of the newspaper portraits done by the talented owner himself during the lockdown period.

🔹Uns House Special Cappucino- A perfect blend of expresso, steamed milk & foamed milk to kickstart your day.

🔹Special Hot Chocolate- Probably the best one I had till date. Hot shaved melted chocolate, not too sweet, topped with tiny marsh mellows.

🔹Achari Chicken Canape- Bread spirals wrapped with tangier chicken tikka pieces, topped with cheese and tomato. A perfect 'at one go' bite decorated on point.

🔹Beer Batter Fish Orly Bites- Fluffy beer batter coating of fresh bhetki fillets served with kasundi & tomato mixed dip.

🔹Veg Kebabi Sliders- Small buns stuffed with extremely soft creamy aloo jaali kebabs & garnished with salad.

🔹Kesariya Brownie Sandwich- This completely engrossed me since I never had this anywhere before. Dripping rasmalai placed between two layers of nutty brownies. Initially being skeptical about the taste, it directly hit my sweet tooth to perfection after taking the first bite. The best described fusion dessert, a match made in heaven.

🔹Vanilla Chocochip Muffin- Spongy hot baked vanilla muffin loaded with chocochips on top. An unplanned treat from their side for a dessert freak like me.

Special mention to friendly service and well cordial staffs. Even if you are struck to boredom, I bet that wouldn't last for long since the owner pledges to interact about any topic you wish to with sheer comfortness.

So, whether to pamper yourself with books, have adda session with friends, dine in with family or plan a coffee date, Uns Cafe has to be the ultimate destination. A complete package with a pinch of art & culture, full of liveliness and a reason...

Being a 90's Kid, I always prefer the old songs over the new ones as every line used to pierce our heart like anything. The word "Uns" is taken from a song from the movie Dil Se(1998) where Gulzar Saab scripted this magic. "Uns" Is an Urdu word which means Love/Affection. As soon as you enter the cafe you can literally feel why they've named it Uns, as each and every paintings, bottle crafting, etc was done with so much effort and love. With a seating capacity of around 30, Uns Cafe and Dining is located at Purna Das Road (Triangular Park) serving quality food to their diners.

Now coming to the things I've tried,

Special Chicken Kebab Platter (₹499) : This is an assorted platter where you'll get 2 pieces of Chicken Hariyali Kebab, 2 pieces of Chicken Tikka Kebab, 2pieces of Chicken Reshmi Kebab and 2pieces of Murg Pahadi Kebab with 2 dips and salad. The chicken pieces were soft and tender. If you want to have different flavors in a single platter then I'd definitely suggest you to get this one.

Dahi Kebab with aloo paratha (₹299) : 6 pieces of dahi kebabs served with mini square sized aloo parathas.

Mutton Kosha Tacos (₹399) : Mutton kosha has always been one of the go to option for all the mutton lovers and introducing that with tacos is something that's beyond expectation. I must say this was an experiment that went extraordinarily well. Definitely worth the money.

Stuffed Fish Fry (₹269): Must Have from the menu. It's a pure bhetki dish. The aroma and the taste is to die for. Totally different than the regular fish fry. I highly RECOMMEND you to try this one out.

Basanti Pulau & Mutton Kosha(₹309) : This is definitely an evergreen combination. 3 succulent pieces of mutton kosha with aromatic basmati pulao. The quantity is pretty decent for one person. The price is reasonable too.

Apart from all these things what I love the most, is their coffee. The coffee beans are grinded in front of your eyes to give you the best aromatic coffee. A cappuccino would cost you around ₹129 rupees.

If you have works to do but you feel bored at the same time, do drop down at Uns as they have offer running where you can get unlimited coffee/tea and selected sandwich/rice bowl served to you at ₹349/- (the offer is valid between 12pm to 6pm). Ask for their wifi password and feel free to make Uns, your workstation.

"Uns" this name has several meanings and this particular word comes from Urdu term. Uns means love , affection. And this word had used on the famous song "Satrangi Re" from the movie Dilse.. and the lines Aankhon ne kuch aise chua Halka halka uns hua.. Yes these lines distinctively hits the owner and he decided to name the place Uns cafe and dining. Located at Hindustan Park . Firstly this is most Instagram worthy cafe. And this place is something different from another cafes of Kolkata. They have that kind of ambiance where you get soothing vibes and also some positiveness. The cafe is decorated with beautiful handcrafts and paintings. And in this place you can spend your time as much as you want . No one will distrub you.. From office work to gossips,chilling all are allowing by this place.. Staffs are very friendly and calm also well trained.. So I have visited this place and amazed by their ambiance also food.. Now come to the food which I have tried

✔️Cappuccino- It was so nicely presented and taste was fine ✔️Cold coffee- It was also good and fresh ✔️Stuffed fish fry - The unique item I have tried, stuffing was with bhetki fish and veggies , outer portion was crispy which made this item damn tasty, most recommended one ✔️Dahi kabab with paratha- Dahi kabab was well prepared and it had a great taste which goes with paratha perfectly ✔️Chicken kebab platter- The platter was bliss. It consisted with 4 types of chicken kebabs and each and every kebabs were tasty and tender ✔️Mutton Kasha Tacos - This is also something different which I have tried . Tacos stuffed fully with mutton kasha . Just amazing one. ✔️Basanti pulao & Mutton Kasha - We all known about this deadly combo. And in this place you get the tastier version of this combo ✔️Shahi Tukda - It was also perfectly made. Great one as dessert
