AB's located near citylights cinema Dadar west close shivaji park. The seating arrangements are of bar and also there's a separate family room . The attendant is polite enough to note your order. The ambience is little bit dim and cozy with soft music played in the background.

They offer a menu consisting of variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian options.

In frame - manchow soup, veg AB's special, chicken tikka and butter chicken

Overall Rating -4/5

  1. Chicken manchow (4/5) I loved the soup as it was served piping hot with all the veggies needed, shredded chicken and sauces but the best part was the fried noodles served along. A definite try.

  2. AB's special (4/5) This was a quite unique dish we gave a try. All sorts of veggies chunks (mushroom, paneer, baby corn, cauliflower and also some pulses) tossed in a red curry type of sauce garnished with sesame seeds. The taste was more sort of curry types but thumbs up for innovating such a dish in starters.

  3. Chicken tikka - (4/5) The quantity of chicken tikka is generous ( 8 pcs) with no compromise with its taste. It has a smoky flavour with all the spices making it perfectly succulent and tender complimenting was the green mint chutney.

  4. butter chicken(4/5) - This is another classic dish which is coupled with roti or naan. I personally didn't like it as it was sweet, however, u can request for a spicy version of it. This dish will impress people with a "no-no" attitude for spicy food. The gravy was creamy with boneless shredded chicken topped with dollop of butter.

Final verdict, this place is a must try for the reasonable price, generous quantity and the classic taste it...

If you're in Mumbai and craving veg and non veg South Indian food then Anand Bhavan is a solid choice.

Ambiance & Setting: The place offers a casual and comfortable dining atmosphere, suitable for both family dinners and friendly gatherings. It's well-lit, clean, and has a no-fuss vibe, perfect for focusing on the food. Loved the murals.

Food Quality: The menu is expansive and flavorful. We tried a wide range — from crispy Veg Spring Rolls to the spicy Andhra Guntur Chilly, Mutton Sukka and Butter Cheese Garlic Naan. The Prawns Ghee Roast stood out with their rich, authentic flavors and perfect spice balance. Vegetarians have plenty to enjoy too. Ela Neer Payasam for a comforting dessert. Portion sizes were generous and presentation was tidy.

Drinks: The bar menu was impressive. The Long Island Iced Tea and Breezers were refreshing, while the Bombay Sapphire and Carlsberg added a spirited edge to the meal. Perfect for winding down your evening.

Service: Staff was courteous, attentive, and managed the crowd well. Food was served fresh and timely, even with a large order.

Overall Experience: A memorable evening filled with delicious South Indian delicacies and a variety of other cuisines. Definitely worth a revisit. Highly recommended for foodies looking for authentic...

The best as usual! This time around we started off with “Prawns Guntur Chilly” and asked him to make it less spicy. It was the best!! The prawns were so succulently cooked and the masala complimented them well! We also had the Surmai fry which was also delicious but the prawns overpowered everything!

For the main course we ordered Rawas Malabari Curry and Appam. The appams were a bit thin and out of shape. However the taste was good and the Malabari curry was heaven! We polished off the last of the Malabari curry with Malabar paratha (Kerala Parotta) and although out stomachs were full we felt sad that the food was over and there was no more space in our tummies!

We finished the night with a amazing bowl of “Elaneer Paysam” which I make sure I eat everytime I go to ABs!

All in all 100% recommended to both veg & non veg aficionados!

PS : If you want alcoholic drinks and same food - AB’s has a dining and bar just...

Note : its my personal experience, exclusively my view towards the food i orderd and ate Myself a south indian (kerala), for lunch i ordered brown rice and boneless chicken varutha aracha curry (because they wont give any curry with rice). After 15 minutes i got the food i ordered, chicken varuth aracha curry was like chicken stew (white in colour). Rice smell wasn't good and the chicken pieces were not cooked properly (tasted raw without any taste of masala). I never saw chicken varuth aracha curry in while colour. Suggestion to the restaurant : please change the name of the curry or atleast make sure the customer is fully aware of the food which he is going to get. Truth to be told : I'll give 5 stars to ambience.
