A Disappointing Evening at Foo Bandra Our recent visit to Foo Bandra left us thoroughly underwhelmed and quite frustrated. Despite being told we'd be accommodated without a reservation, the caveat that we needed to vacate our table by 9:45 PM (when it was already 8:40 PM) set a rushed and unwelcoming tone from the start. Trying to enjoy a meal with a baby under such a strict time constraint was challenging enough, but it was made significantly worse by the incredibly slow service. We constantly had to flag down staff to take our orders and then wait excessively for them to arrive.
The ambiance did little to improve our mood; the restaurant was excessively dark and gloomy, making it difficult to even read the menu comfortably.
Adding insult to injury, a hefty 10% service charge was levied on our bill, despite the complete lack of dedicated service. We felt ignored and had to repeatedly call out for assistance, which is simply not what one expects when paying a premium for service.
The food itself was another major letdown. The prices were exceptionally high for the minuscule portions served. A prime example was the "egg fried rice" which seemed to contain almost no egg at all. Beyond the quantity issue, the taste simply did not justify the exorbitant cost. It was mediocre at best, certainly not worth the price tag.
To top it all off, the final bill was presented without any of the usual complimentary mints, paan, or appetisers, which felt like a small but noticeable oversight after such a disappointing experience.
Perhaps the most telling comment came from the liftman himself, who quipped, "Iss hotel mein khaoo and niche hospital mein barti hogaoo" (Eat in this hotel and get admitted to the hospital downstairs) – a remark that, while likely a joke, perfectly encapsulated our overall negative impression.
Overall, Foo Bandra failed to deliver on every front, from service and ambiance to food quality and value for money. We certainly won't...
