Had the pleasure of dining at Hakkasan in Mumbai, and I have to say, the atmosphere is fantastic. The setting is modern and sleek, with comfortable seating and a stylish bar that creates a welcoming vibe. It’s definitely one of the top Chinese restaurants in Mumbai, but while the ambiance is spot on, it doesn’t quite deliver in terms of traditional Chinese authenticity.

The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist. We ordered the Peking duck, which was, unfortunately, underwhelming. The preparation was just okay—the skin wasn’t crispy, and the duck itself was on the smaller side but came from Thailand. Traditionally, the creases would be used for a soup or stir-fry, but they were left unused here. A bit disappointing considering the cost and overall taste.

On a positive note, the dim sum was quite good, and I was impressed by how they cater to a wide range of dietary preferences, with no lard used in their offerings. We also tried the stir-fried buffalo, which was surprisingly delicious—tender, not too gamey, and packed with flavor.

The drinks were excellent, and it would’ve been nice to see the tea served personally as needed, perhaps with a selection of puer on the menu for added depth?

As for dessert, I think they could elevate the experience by adding some authentic Chinese options instead of just only the Western-style desserts.

The desserts, while good, leaned more towards Western-style offerings. I would love to see some traditional Chinese desserts added to the menu for an authentic touch.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was top-notch, though there’s room for improvement in the authenticity and food preparation. Still, I would recommend it for a refined and relaxed dining...

Upscale Cantonese restaurant with decent food Hakasan is an International restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine from the Guandong province particularly Guangzhou the provincial capital. The place has great ambiance and welcoming staff. Gorgeous place divided into three segments- lounge cum restaurant, fine dining area and private dining rooms. Dark interiors with well placed spotlights and delicate touches gives the place a charm of it's own. *Review for veg food only* Tried the following: 1.Green Nile mocktail was refreshing, had coriander and kiwi in right proportions and topped of with right amount of juice 2.Lychee and Taro nest: Innovative idea of adding a lychee appetizer, perfectly fried(non oily) served alongside a crunchy nest and spicy sauce, contrast of all these flavours couldn't blend that well it tasted average but full marks for creativity 3.Vegetarian duck and cress salad: Nutritious, healthy and tasty! Salad contains veg duck a popular chinese meat substitute, pomelo, onions and cress (herb) 4.Dumpling: The lone star in a dull night! Melts in your mouth, by far the best I've ever had 5.Kung Pao Tofu: The tofu didn't seem fresh, wasn't soft as well, really oily 6.Fried Rice: Had the perfect sticky texture, decent taste wise nothing extraordinary 7.Noodles: Were too greasy and lacked the garlic punch 8.Chocolate Raspberry Sphere: Hot fudge poured over a ball of Belgium dark chocolate containing raspberry mousse, delicious! Food has potential but doesn't hold up to the expectations, being an International chain and high price tag expected a lot more from Hakkasan. The service here is a little slow specially on weekends.

Absolutely loved the place... It had this soft lighting.. mysterious.. cozy look to it. Though they were full up.. they seated us at the bar.. till the table got cleared. What an awesome well stocked.. bar it is! And the bar seating.. comfortable too. Soft lounge music.. friendly bartenders.. and great service.. so we chose to continue.. at the bar.. through starters.. Delightful dumplings and we quite liked the lettuce wrap too! Enjoyed the custom made mocktails.. with freshly crushed fruits. Shifted to a table for a simple.. but sumptuous meal. Both the Hakka style noodles and the Chicken with Exotic veggies in a gravy dish.. were perfectly cooked and flavoured. Though we were full up.. we were goaded into trying a portion of their home made icecream. There again.. must say.. all the three scoops.. were luscious.. coffee.. fresh raspberry and sea salt n caramel.. with a most creamy texture!! Absolutely fab experience.. except for the fact.. that the floor manager.. insisted.. coerced.. then almost pleaded us to pay an additional Service Tax.. which I refused to do. Would rate it.. a good 8.5 out of ten.. and am looking forward to dining there soon!
