Haldiram at Terminal 1 of Mumbai Airport is one of those places you feel thankful for when you’re traveling. Located at the terminal, it’s such a relief to find a spot that is clean, air-conditioned, and actually gives you a comfortable place to sit and enjoy proper food instead of just grabbing a rushed snack on the go. The seating arrangement with tables and chairs makes it easy to relax, especially if you have some time before your flight. I stopped here recently and tried their dosa and idli, and honestly, it was a great choice. The dosa was crisp and flavorful, served with fresh chutney and sambar, and the idlis were soft, light, and comforting. The taste really reminded me of a good South Indian breakfast, which is something I wasn’t expecting to find at an airport food court. The quality was definitely above average compared to many airport eateries, and it felt like proper food rather than just something put together quickly. What I also liked was the variety they offer. Apart from the regular South Indian dishes, they have multiple food options covering different tastes, so whether you’re in the mood for a meal, snacks, or something sweet, you’ll find something here. They also stock packaged Haldiram snacks which are perfect for takeaways – a handy option if you want to carry something for your journey or pick up a gift for family or friends. The staff was polite and attentive, which added to the overall experience. Even though the place had quite a few travelers, they managed everything smoothly, and the tables were kept neat and clean. It felt organized and welcoming, not chaotic like some busy airport counters can be. Overall, Haldiram at Mumbai’s Terminal 1 is a great spot to sit down, eat comfortably, and enjoy a proper meal while travelling. With tasty food, courteous staff, and the reliability of a trusted brand, it’s definitely a place I’d recommend and one I’ll happily return to on my future travels.

I recently visited Haldiram's at Mumbai Airport, and I must say it was a satisfying experience. Haldiram's, known for its delicious Indian snacks and sweets, lived up to its reputation even within the airport premises. The variety of food options at Haldiram's was impressive. From crispy samosas and flavorful chaat to mouthwatering sweets and namkeens, there was something for every palate. The quality and taste of the food were excellent, showcasing the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine. The staff members at Haldiram's were courteous and efficient, ensuring a pleasant ordering and dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu items and provided helpful recommendations based on individual preferences. The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable and clean, providing a welcoming environment to enjoy the food. Despite being located within the airport, the seating area was spacious, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. One aspect that stood out was the quick service. Despite the airport's fast-paced environment, the staff at Haldiram's managed to serve the food promptly without compromising on taste or quality. Overall, Haldiram's at Mumbai Airport is a great place to satisfy your cravings for authentic Indian snacks and sweets. Whether you're a local traveler or an international visitor, it offers a taste of India within the airport premises. I highly recommend stopping by Haldiram's for a flavorful and satisfying dining experience.

This outlet uses Vanaspati Ghee (Hydrogenated vegetable oil) to make the food items. Vanaspati ghee is not illegal, but it would be extremely unwise to continue going here in spite of knowing the medium they use to fry foodstuff and its harmful effect on you. Of course you ask the restaurant employee and they respond by saying they use pure butter! If only most people were discerning of what they eat ... one can easily make out the difference between butter, desi ghee and vanaspati ghee. Melting point of vanaspati is higher hence it solidifies like wax (refer the attached picture, area marked in blue). It has the same solidifying effect on your tongue and therefor you will experience a thin coating on your tongue when you consume food made with vanaspati ghee. I would recommend them to put up a board stating their use of vanaspati ghee in cooking food. EDIT: I raised email complaint with the customer care email ID by sending all the images. I have received a cliched response with no accountability from Haldiram's side: "The matter has been escalated to our senior management team for thorough review and necessary action" Haldiram's spokesperson hasn't even clarified what actions can we expect and by when.

Last Friday, on 24th May, 2024, me and my family had dinner at this restaurant after landing at the Mumbai domestic airport. We had chole bhatura, paneer makhani rice bowl, rasmalai and chaans. By the next day evening time, I had a bad tummy upset - bloating, abdominal pain and tightness, vomiting and diarrhoea. Fortunately, I had medicines at home and took them immediately suspecting food poisoning. The following day, my husband and daughter also fell ill with similar symptoms. We were fortunate that the three of us did not end up in a hospital and got better with oral medications, adequate hydration and adhering to a strict diet of plain rice, curd, banana and khichdi for few days thereafter. This is a classic case of food poisoning. I even called up the customer care/support and gave a strong feedback of this particular Haldiram restaurant. The last place you'd expect something like this is from restaurants in and at the airport which generally comply with high quality food standards. These guys really need to get their audits and inspections done regularly. In the summer season, it's all the more necessary that a regular and close monitoring be done. Food poisoning is a serious matter and can take an ugly turn depending on how bad and aggressive the infection is and the individual's immunity. I have to add here that Haldiram's packaged namkeen snacks are also a long term risk to the health as they are highly salted. The food in their restaurants is also nothing great tastewise. The paneer makhani has got a very sweetish synthetic kind of taste - does not appeal to my tastebuds atleast. It's not enough to just have a brand name. Maintating and living up to high quality standards is what really matters and counts ultimately. Anyway, I'm never making the mistake of eating at their Mumbai airport restaurant again or maybe from any of their restaurants. One bad experience was enough of a...
