Haldiram at Terminal 1 of Mumbai Airport is one of those places you feel thankful for when you’re traveling. Located at the terminal, it’s such a relief to find a spot that is clean, air-conditioned, and actually gives you a comfortable place to sit and enjoy proper food instead of just grabbing a rushed snack on the go. The seating arrangement with tables and chairs makes it easy to relax, especially if you have some time before your flight.
I stopped here recently and tried their dosa and idli, and honestly, it was a great choice. The dosa was crisp and flavorful, served with fresh chutney and sambar, and the idlis were soft, light, and comforting. The taste really reminded me of a good South Indian breakfast, which is something I wasn’t expecting to find at an airport food court. The quality was definitely above average compared to many airport eateries, and it felt like proper food rather than just something put together quickly.
What I also liked was the variety they offer. Apart from the regular South Indian dishes, they have multiple food options covering different tastes, so whether you’re in the mood for a meal, snacks, or something sweet, you’ll find something here. They also stock packaged Haldiram snacks which are perfect for takeaways – a handy option if you want to carry something for your journey or pick up a gift for family or friends.
The staff was polite and attentive, which added to the overall experience. Even though the place had quite a few travelers, they managed everything smoothly, and the tables were kept neat and clean. It felt organized and welcoming, not chaotic like some busy airport counters can be.
Overall, Haldiram at Mumbai’s Terminal 1 is a great spot to sit down, eat comfortably, and enjoy a proper meal while travelling. With tasty food, courteous staff, and the reliability of a trusted brand, it’s definitely a place I’d recommend and one I’ll happily return to on my...
Read moreLast Friday, on 24th May, 2024, me and my family had dinner at this restaurant after landing at the Mumbai domestic airport. We had chole bhatura, paneer makhani rice bowl, rasmalai and chaans. By the next day evening time, I had a bad tummy upset - bloating, abdominal pain and tightness, vomiting and diarrhoea. Fortunately, I had medicines at home and took them immediately suspecting food poisoning. The following day, my husband and daughter also fell ill with similar symptoms. We were fortunate that the three of us did not end up in a hospital and got better with oral medications, adequate hydration and adhering to a strict diet of plain rice, curd, banana and khichdi for few days thereafter. This is a classic case of food poisoning. I even called up the customer care/support and gave a strong feedback of this particular Haldiram restaurant. The last place you'd expect something like this is from restaurants in and at the airport which generally comply with high quality food standards. These guys really need to get their audits and inspections done regularly. In the summer season, it's all the more necessary that a regular and close monitoring be done. Food poisoning is a serious matter and can take an ugly turn depending on how bad and aggressive the infection is and the individual's immunity. I have to add here that Haldiram's packaged namkeen snacks are also a long term risk to the health as they are highly salted. The food in their restaurants is also nothing great tastewise. The paneer makhani has got a very sweetish synthetic kind of taste - does not appeal to my tastebuds atleast. It's not enough to just have a brand name. Maintating and living up to high quality standards is what really matters and counts ultimately. Anyway, I'm never making the mistake of eating at their Mumbai airport restaurant again or maybe from any of their restaurants. One bad experience was enough of a...
