javaphile lokhandwala — Restaurant in Mumbai

TLDR : Disappointed with the coffee, the cheesecake was alright.

Had visited the place in the wee hours as it was opening, disappointed to see swarms of flies in the outdoor section.

As for the coffee, the place is called Javaphile - and it has an Arabica and Robusta blend - even for its manual brews (strange). (I asked the lady behind the counter). Pricing manual brews at that range for said blend is just poor business ethics.

A basic americano was on the acidic side so much so that my face gave a rejection response.

The Cheesecake was the run of the mill mass produced creamy goodness which was alright.

Service was good, as I asked the lady to re do the americano which resulted in the same battery acid cup. No fault of the staff.

If the establishment gets some good beans and actually serves Javaphiles it...

The cleanliness at your cafe is pathetic and questionable. I come to the cafe every week with my dog and several times I have raised cleanliness concerns. But today was beyond pathetic. There was hair on the table and when I complained to the manager he was casual about it. Not a word of apology and it took me 3 reminders to finally get him to clean. When I told him i will write a review he gave me a thumbs up like finding hair was a huge achievement. We come here because it’s pet friendly and the coffee is good but this kind of cleanliness and attitude doesn’t fly...

Javaphile is a cozy little coffee shop in Lokhandwala complex. I ordered an espresso hot chocolate and a butter croissant, which were decent—good, but not extraordinary. However, the burnt Basque cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious and worth trying.

The place was quite busy during my visit, with limited seating options both indoors and outdoors. While the ambiance is nice, finding a seat can be challenging, especially during peak hours.
