Ladurée, founded in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée in Paris, began as a bakery on rue Royale. After a 1871 fire, it became a pastry shop. Jeanne Souchard pioneered the tea room concept. Pierre Desfontaines invented the double-decker macaron in the 1930s, cementing Ladurée’s global fame.
I visited Ladurée at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai, and it was a delightful experience.
Famous for their macarons, they didn’t disappoint—crisp, flavorful, and perfectly delicate.
I tried the mango tart, which was refreshing with a buttery crust. The avocado burrata was creamy and fresh, paired beautifully with crisp bread. Their pasta was cooked al dente, with a rich, comforting sauce. The croissant sandwich was flaky and packed with fresh ingredients, while the ice cream sandwich was a fun, indulgent treat.
The service was lovely, with staff being attentive and warm. The ambiance is stunning—elegant yet cozy, with soft lighting and chic decor that makes you feel special. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and experience.

Read moreWas given really good reviews of the place so thought we should try it out. Absolutely not value for money the macarons were no bigger than the size of a hoop earring and each costs about 245. The dark chocolate and raspberry (275) sounded yummy hence decided to try it out and considering these are the guys that invented macarons I was looking forward to something really good however the damn thing was stale (are they being flown in from France) coz that's the only explanation for the taste of this. The coffee... Being a coffee person I know coffee... It had zero flavor you couldn't tell what kind of roast it was it tasted burnt... Overall not going there again for sure. Not worth the hype Had 1 macaron 1 Eugene (this was nice but still not work the cost of it) 2...
