I stayed at Sofitel BKC recently, expecting a seamless 5-star experience — while the ambience and brand promise are strong, a few major gaps made the stay feel far from premium. Here’s the honest breakdown:

🛏️ Room & Stay: Good, But Some Letdowns

Rooms are well-designed and feel luxurious, no doubt. But when you're paying 5-star rates, you expect both design and service to be flawless.

Bathroom issues: Drainage was poorly constructed — post-shower water kept pooling instead of draining properly. Also, the bathroom wasn’t as clean as expected.

🍽️ In-Room Dining: Big Miss

At check-in, I was told I could just sign for in-room dining and settle the bill during checkout.

But each delivery demanded immediate payment, causing confusion — a classic case of poor internal communication.

Ordered food with a 40-minute ETA, and it finally arrived after 70 minutes, despite two follow-up calls and vague “it’s on the way” responses.

🚪 6th Floor Hallway: What’s That Smell?

The common carpet on the 6th floor smelled terrible. Raised a complaint — no action taken throughout my stay. Not expected from a luxury brand.

🌙 Sleep Menu: Great Concept, Poor Execution

They promote their Sleep Menu like it’s a signature wellness offering, but guess what? Most items weren’t available. Then why advertise it so heavily?
