Special occassions call for special places. Headed to Amadeo by Oberoi located at ground level of NMACC, BKC. Located next to Indian Accent. I saw some photos of the restaurant and decided that I have to be here. Indeed, it was a good decision.
Loved the flute glass partitions, ambiance looked absolutely elegant and divine. The lovely huge french windows at the side over looking the Dhirubhai Ambani Square and fountain of joy is the best possible view one can hope for. Unfortunately, the fountain was closed for maintenance, but it was turned on just for sometime as soon as we stepped into the restaurant, so we caught a glimpse of it. Simply beautiful. Amadeo serves Indian, Italian, Japanese and Chinese cuisine.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing. Loads of people in larger groups had come down to have a lazy lavish Sunday brunch!
Talking about what all we tried at Amadeo -
We started with Amuse bouche which was an in-house baked bread topped with Pesto and cherry tomatoes. The bread was so fluffy and soft, outstanding! I wish I could order some more of this. Amazing! Next we ordered the Tadka Dahi Kebab, 3 pieces of Kebab (would have liked if some quantity) served with masala peanuts and the unique part was avocado chutney! No complaints on the kebab, simply melted in mouth, though a touch spicy.
Since we were just 2, we ordered limited things, as mains, we ordered the Regina Margherita pizza. It's a neapolitan pizza, so expect the crust to be thick. But the breads here are so amazing you don't mind finishing the crusts as well. Finally for dessert, we ordered Tea and Chocolate Warm Earl Grey Ganache ball had berries in it, poured with hot chocolate sauce. Tea and chocolate taste balanced it out quite well. Great dessert.
As mentioned earlier, it was a special occasion, so the restaurant offered us a complimentary cake towards the end, it was quite a nice gesture. Thank you Amadeo for your hospitality and experience, here's wishing you luck and...
Read moreVisited Amadeo Today for the very first time. Being a sole restaurant run by the Oberoi group that too in Bombay I went with my eyes closed as I had a blind trust that I won't be disappointed and my instinct turned to be true. I was here to celebrate a birthday occasion and everything was organized so very well by the staff. The communication right from booking to billing is absolutely smooth and the entire staff from valet to security to the restaurant staff is incredibly polite. We were looked after by an extremely talented boy Bhaskar who hails from Kaziranga, Assam and in his occasional absence the rest of the team members treated us very well too. Speaking of the restaurant, the menu caters indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian cuisine and I must say inspite of having such diverse cuisine, they have the choicest dishes on their menu and any dish that you would order, it gives justice to the ingredients. Rest assured that you'll have a wonderful and delectable time. The drinks menu complements the food really well. This is what you can try : Drinks : Filter Kaapi Martini, Italian white wine, berry mocktail Food : kathal galouti, duck seekh kabab, cumin lamb Chops, beetroot carpaccio, Truffle tagliatelle, coastal fish curry with steamed rice, chocolate earl grey dessert. As we were celebrating a birthday occasion, complementary cake was given by their end which was tasty and made our day as well. It's a wonderful fine dining experience in BKC area and infact much better than other options in this vicinity. All the very best to Amadeo and best wishes to the entire...
Read moreThe restaurant is spacious and has very attentive staff. Loved the atmosphere there. It is perfect for date night by the bar or a family dinner. They have several cuisines to choose from so you are spoilt for choice. They have open kitchens for each cuisine so you can see the food being prepared in front of you.
I visited with my family and got a bunch of starters with desert.
Mushroom Ceviche: it was a delicious cold dish. I really loved the glutinous coat on top of the ceviche. The textures of the dish were a really fun experience.
Avo Chaat: a surprisingly tasty dish. The heat from the peanuts paired with the patty and guac was very delicious and an interesting take on chaat.
Goat cheese ravioli: it was very fresh with a pesto base. The ravioli coating although looks overpowering went very well with the goat cheese filling and pesto sauce.
Roasted potatoes: this dish was a bit underwhelming. The cook on the potatoes were alright but the dish overall could use some more freshness.
Coconut granita: loved this take on coconut textures. The desert is encased in a chocolate shell filled with a jelly topped with shredded shards of iced coconut made to look like coconut shavings. There were also sour elements on the side to balance out...
