I wanted to have brunch and was searching for a good South Indian restaurant where i could eat properly as i was very hungry. I ordered idli and medu wada and others ordered a gini dosa a Mysore masala dosa and a pizza dosa. Everything was great. The sambhar was also hot and spicy. The red chutney was awesome and the green chutney was not bad either. The service was good as the food came in like 5 minutes of waiting. The tables were not that clean but it was ok. The only concern is that there are no seating options available except for senior citizens and children where there are 6 chairs kept for them to seat. The instant coffee is awesome. You get the authentic taste of South Indian instant coffee with the classic Indian cup. They make the coffee in front of you where the coffee powder is in a cloth and they add milk and heat it to the temperature where it almost boils. It tastes amazing. The pineapple sheera makes for the best dessert as it is sweet and hot. There are no colouring or food sweeteners added in the sheera. It's just pure pineapple with dry fruits (kishmish) in it. There are juices available but I think they are just a little overpriced so I did not try them. There are about i think 6-7 branches of Manis in Mumbai and I've been to about 4-5 of them. Every one of them has the same consistent taste and service. I would highly recommend trying Manis at least once in a lifetime if you like South...
Read moreVery very very bad experience The staff behaviour was bad not at all cooperative, helpful and very unprofessional. They have token system there with a screen that displays the number and announces the same that for some reason they were not using and were taking very long time to prepare orders. For one of our order our dosa had arrived and they didn't bother call out the number and when we were almost finished having what we were went there to ask for our order that time they are saying we had called out but no one came which qas not the case we were standing close to the counter and they had not called out infact this happened with couple of other people as well and suddenly they started using the token system again. Coming to the dosas ordered gini, noodles , Mysore masala dosa, podi sada dosa and podi idli. From all these only the podi idli I feel was decent enough to have otherwise the dosas were really pathetic. Dosas were half cooked, noodles was also bad , there was literally not much stuffing in the gini dosa. There are much better options in Ghatkopar if u wanna have some good dosas. Also don't go by the photos on the wall they are highly misleading. I would personally not go to this place even for free very very bad experience in all aspects wouldn't be surprised if this outlet closes in a while if they keep up with this kind of food and staff behaviour. Many road side stalls offer better...
Read moreMy experience at Mani's Ghatkopar was nothing short of a nightmare. The overcrowded establishment, with its stand-and-eat tables, resembled a chaotic mess rather than a place to enjoy a meal. The self-serve system was a disaster, with endless queues for both dining in and takeaway tokens.
Despite the promising appearance of the bustling crowd, the reality was bitterly disappointing. The staff seemed utterly lost and confused, lacking any sense of organization or efficiency. But the real disappointment lay in the taste—or lack thereof.
The masala dosa was bland and uninspiring, accompanied by chutneys that all tasted eerily similar. The sambar, absurdly sweet, seemed more suited to appease the palate of a Gujarati Maharaj than discerning dosa enthusiasts. As for the idli and vada, the batter was dense and unappetizing, making them a chore to consume.
And don't even get me started on the filter coffee. Tasteless, with chunks of milk floating as if the beverage had been hastily concocted by an amateur. Even the most mediocre tea stall could produce a better brew.
In conclusion, Mani's Ghatkopar is a disgrace to the Mani's chain and to the culinary scene in Mumbai. Overhyped, overcrowded, and utterly underwhelming, it fails to live up to even the most basic standards of quality and service. Awarding it even a single star would be an act of...
