Merwans is an icon and has been for decades now. They sell cakes, pastries, puffs and other bakery items. They used to have only 1 outlet in Andheri West near the station but now they have expanded across Mumbai and MH. Their cakes and snacks are among the best in Mumbai. But the reason they're so popular is because they are really cheap but have amazing quality products. After lockdown, their quality did not deteriorate, although sizes did get slightly smaller, but not as much as most other shops. It is still very much value for money. They have fresh stock arrive in the morning and afternoon. But everything gets sold out within hours. If you happen to go to an outlet after 6pm, most of the non veg puffs would have gotten over but you'll still get the veg ones and egg if you're lucky. But you'll still find cakes and pastries. They have expanded their variety of cakes now. Their cakes are super soft, moist and perfectly baked. You won't get parking there, so best not to get a car. Serving the finest cakes at not too exorbitant price

Have tried cakes, pastries, puffs, and many other foodstuffs from merwans, but each time I try these guys become better and better. This time I had tried the half kg version of the strawberry ganache flavor and it was absolutely delicious.

The cake has three layers of cream with soft chocolate flavored bread as the base. The topmost layer on the cake is pure white cream and it does taste delicious. It has a small dollop of strawberry jam at the top and nice design of chocolate cream on one side over the white cream. the second layer is the strawberry cream mixed with vanilla as I tasted. you can feel the sweet strawberry taste mixed with vanilla and you can see the light pinkish color of the cream.

The third layer has pure chocolate cream and you either eat all the three one at a time or at once each way you get a unique taste and that taste of the cream melting in your mouth. All in all, this was a wonderful flavor and truly loved the taste...
