Diving into my digital dining experience via Zomato with this restaurant, I embarked on a culinary quest, only to find the kebab treasure trove mysteriously depleted. Perhaps they're just too popular, or maybe it's a strategic scarcity to boost allure—who knows? So, pivoting to Plan B, I summoned a main course melee: Mutton Tawa Bhuna, Afghani Chicken, an unnamed chicken gravy, and Hummus Kheema, all while staunchly avoiding any fusion food faux pas.
The verdict? A tad too oily, a dash too spicy, and the ingredients seemed to have lost their way in the flavor department. It feels like this place might be basking a bit too much in its own hype, or perhaps my culinary compass steered me wrong. I'm teetering on the brink of giving their celebrated kebabs a shot for redemption's sake—but let's be clear, if I'm rolling the dice on them again, it'll be on someone else's dime! 😄
Updated Review of Miya Kebab
Returning to Miya Kebab for an in-house dining experience definitely provided a boost to the overall flavor profile compared to their delivery service. Dining in seems to add that extra zest to each dish.
Curiously, for a restaurant named after kebabs, the mutton options are surprisingly scant. It’s a bit of an eyebrow-raiser at a kebab house, as you’d typically expect a rich array of mutton dishes. Instead, the menu favors chicken .
Speaking of chicken, the dish we tried looked fiery red, promising a spicy punch, but it turned out to be surprisingly mild and somewhat dry—a stark contrast to its menacing appearance. On the other hand, the mutton tawa pulav did make it to our table, delivering on the expected flavors nicely.
A delightful surprise of the meal was the zaatar cheese-stuffed dish, which was unexpectedly pleasant and added a unique twist to our meal.
While Miya Kebab offers a solid dining experience with some hits and a few misses, it’s worth noting the limited mutton selections and the mildness of what might appear to be spicier offerings. Despite these nuances, it remains a good spot for those in the area craving a kebab fix—just maybe set the spice expectations a tad lower and prepare for some pleasant surprises...
Read moreIn short and sweet, you should visit this restaurant in Andheri Oshiwara if you are a lover of Lebanese / Mediterranean / Arabic cuisine, like I am.
We were a group of 7 friends. For starters, we ordered something in mushrooms though I fail to remember what exactly. And unfortunately we were unable to eat it because one of tge friends is too blunt and didn’t hesitate a second in returning that dish just because they took a LITTLE longer to serve us that. I disapprove of her attitude, Sorry. The manager must have been reluctant but he did meet my friend’s unjust request!!!!
We then had Angara Chicken Kebabs, Cheese stuffed Zaatar pita bread, Banjara Chicken Kebabs and of course the all time favourite hummus with pita bread too along with some butter naans. I am a resident of bandra and I have been to their bandra outlet many a times. The staff is always very courteous and cooperative as I could make it out from the manager’s response to my friend’s unjust demand.
The food is good and delicious. Ambiance was good. Bandra outlet is a justifiably small one, taking into the consideration the prevailing rents structure here. But this Oshiwara place is very huge comparatively and I am sure it must be very nice to sit outdoors enjoying the rains when it rains.
The price is also very affordable. Along with the soft beverages, I paid only 650 including the tip.
You must visit this restaurant. Enjoy.
And aaaahhhh yes, we also had mutton seekh kebabs. They were very soft textured just like Galauti kebabs. Please...
