I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nava restaurant, and it was truly an amazing experience. The food was outstanding, and the service was exceptional.
I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection and had a crispy exterior with juicy meat inside. The seasoning was just right, and it was served with a delicious dipping sauce that complemented the chicken perfectly.
For dessert, I tried the Banksy-inspired dessert, and it was a true work of art. The presentation was amazing, and the flavors were even better. The combination of the chocolate mousse, caramel sauce, and biscuit base was a true delight for the taste buds.
What really stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by Manager Lavkush. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. He made recommendations for food and wine, and his expertise truly added to the experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also excellent, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
Overall, Nava restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional food and service. With dishes like the Korean Fried Chicken and the Banksy-inspired dessert, and an exceptional manager like Lavkush, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic...
Read moreNava has a lot of potential but is let down by poor management. Excuse the long review. I went with a friend on a Saturday for lunch and we were presented with the tasting menus and the a-la-carte menu. We of course, ordered the tasting menu. I had gone through the menus on their website and man, they sound so good, so innovative so that's what we had come for. Imagine our surprise then when some senior person comes to our table and says that sorry, tasting menus need a 24-hour notice!!! Well hello, I called you guys twice specifically asking about the cost of the tasting menu and not a word was said about this. In any case, I had made the reservation 3 days earlier! Also, this is not mentioned on the website. If I were alone, I would have walked out but i was with company and there's no way I would have got another reservation at a decent restaurant on a Saturday. So that left a very bad taste in my mouth. We ordered from the a-la-carte menu and while our choices were reasonably well-cooked and well-plated, there's no "wow" factor, no innovation (except for the dessert). Check out the tasting menus and you'll know what I mean. Fyi, none of the items on the tasting menu are on the a-la-carte menu, else it wouldn't have mattered. So, long story short, this could have been handled much better and it's unlikely that I'm ever...
Read moreIn my mind, there is virtually no doubt. Nava is the best addition to Bombay’s culinary circuit in a long time. I don’t recall the last time I enjoyed a meal this much. Perhaps Toast. But then that is a very different kind of hedonistic pleasure compared to Nava.
And so it should be. Nava translates as new and innovative, and that they certainly are. The menu is a simple 2 pager, and brutally ingredient forward. Of these I can easily recommend the mind-blowing incredible pâté, unctuous Pork Belly from the small plates and the Duck from the mains. Both of them were bathed in a sauce so glorious, it deserves paeans written about it and wars waged over it. The brie from the small plates was fantastic too, but then, cheese, bread, and butter is a classic combination that would have to be horribly messed up to go wrong.
A special mention for the tequila and jalapeño cocktail (called some like it hot, I think), which boasted a slow burn and heavy hit, and was my pick of the drinks. The whiskey and orange cocktail too was lovely, balancing the traditional with avant-garde well enough to appeal to purists and modernists alike.
If classical French cooking, local ingredients, and modern thinking is your thing, Nava will be right up your alley. It will perhaps be the easiest recommendation I make in 2023, even though we are only...
