My review is not about the food, but rather the behavior of the receptionist. I strongly recommend hiring someone younger and more patient for this role, rather than the current receptionist, who was inattentive and unprofessional. I had placed a takeaway order and went to the reception to make the payment. I clearly showed both the receipt from the takeaway counter and my payment confirmation screen. The receptionist nodded, reset the payment terminal, and waited for the payment sound, which he received. However, after waiting for my order, he called out my name and asked me to pay again. I politely told him I had already paid and showed him the proof once more. Despite this, he continued to argue, questioning why I still had the receipt in my hand and claiming I hadn’t given it to him. I calmly explained that I had shown it to him earlier and that he didn’t ask me to hand it over. The conversation became unnecessarily drawn out. It seemed like he was either taking out personal frustrations at work or struggling due to age-related challenges. A humble request to the owner: please take this feedback seriously and consider a more attentive and customer-friendly receptionist.

Serving the community since 1992, Paul's is a pioneer of the IndoChinese genre. After going through many changes the present decor is for the first time, an attempt by this original gangster to be respectable. Brightly lit and displaying uniformed waiters, the new Paul's is a far cry from the footpath hugging hole in the wall of old. We tried the Seafood Special Soup and found it tasty and varied with a strong but not overpowering proportion of prawn. The prawn red chilly was delightful, it's dryness a recommendation rather than a demerit. Finally the Triple schezwan mixed noodles were also rather wonderful with plenty of taste and meat to please the palate. On the other hand, the chicken in oyster sauce was perhaps a little over spiced, and the chicken tougher than it needed to be. The Sweetcorn chicken soup relied far too heavily on sweet to the exclusion of corn or egg. However the butter garlic chicken noodles were a superbly delicate explosion of taste in the mouth. Noisy school buddies and sepulchural-faced bachelors make the ambience a bit hit or miss, but that's a point we shouldn't let bother us too much. All in all, would definitely go again.

Paul Chinese is a fairly ordinary Chinese eatery with a basic setup. The restaurant has two floors—while the upper floor is air-conditioned, it has a very low ceiling which requires you to bend while walking. The ground floor, on the other hand, is non-AC and offers minimal comfort. We ordered Chicken Lollipop with gravy, Triple Schezwan Fried Rice, and Chopper Rice for three people. The Chicken Lollipop was decent but nothing exceptional. The Triple Schezwan Fried Rice came with a red-colored gravy that looked artificial and lacked any real flavor. The dish had a strong eggy smell, which was quite off-putting. The Chopper Rice was bland, with barely any vegetables, and felt underwhelming in both taste and presentation. We decided to try this place after watching a positive review on YouTube. However, our experience was disappointing and makes us question the authenticity of such glowing reviews, which may very well be paid promotions. Dining here felt like a gamble that, unfortunately, didn’t pay off—leaving us with an unpleasant aftertaste, both literally and figuratively.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Paul Chinese and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the warm and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, with both non AC and AC seating options, making it suitable for any weather.

As I perused the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to see the portions sizes were incredibly large and filling. The food itself was simply delicious, made with fresh ingredients and of good quality. The flavors were well-balanced and the dishes were beautifully presented.

But the real highlight of my visit was the hospitality of the owners and staff. They went out of their way to make sure I had a fantastic dining experience and were always available to answer any questions I had about the menu.

If you're looking for an affordable yet amazing Chinese restaurant, then Paul Chinese is definitely the place to go. And as a special treat, they even offer complementary fried crispy noodles as a starter, which added a unique twist to the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Paul Chinese to anyone who loves Chinese cuisine and wants to have a truly enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. Trust me, you won't be...
