I recently visited Praia at the top floor of Atria Mall in Worli for the launch of the Cocktail Club and was absolutely taken by its vast, open-air ambiance. Spanning a generous 15,000 square feet, this rooftop eatery by restaurateurs Gaurav Dabrai and Kabir Luthria offers a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for watching the sunset—truly a luxury in the hustle of Mumbai.
The moment you step off the elevator and climb a short flight of steps, you’re greeted by soft amber skies (around 6 PM), friendly staff, and plenty of space to unwind. The seating includes cozy cabanas and tables under sail shades spaced far apart, giving the place an inviting, island-like feel. In fact, if you’ve experienced the nightlife in Greece, Praia’s atmosphere will remind you of the energetic bars in Mykonos.
One of the standout features is their dedication to live performances. There’s a stage set up for jazz dinners, supper theatre, weekend DJs, and more, ensuring a memorable dining and entertainment experience every time. Although they run only an evening service, Kabir points out that it was a deliberate choice to maintain a distinct nighttime charm at this location.
Whether you’re there to savor the scenic views, indulge in innovative cocktails (especially if you’re attending a launch like I did), or simply lounge under the stars, Praia has positioned itself as an unmissable spot in South Bombay’s dining scene. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a breezy escape...
Read moreA over-hyped and bad hospitality restaurant with a beautiful ambience. Yeah but ambiance is not the reason we visit a restaurant.
Nachos - were good. I felt the sour cream wasn't perfect. But the presentation method is different.
Wood fired Pizza - As per the main manager, pizzas can't be cooked perfectly or made crispy coz they are wood fired. So they keep it soggy. He was proud of the explanation, idk why. We ordered 2nd pizza asking him to make it lil crispy and he said it will be, but it wasn't.
Ticket to Paradise - A cocktail which tastes worse than a cough syrup. Undoubtedly they would give Buy 2 get 1 free on that.
Server recommended dish - idk the name but it had cranberry compote/jam like thing on it. It was sheer waste of money. And tasted pathetic.
We thought of ordering the 2800 + taxes sheesha but the service was pathetic. There was lot of breeze, so we asked them if we can shift to the sofa seats. The server said no we will move the coolers to reduce the breeze. Then I asked the manager why can't we shift there n he says it's a 20k billing table. So tell that to ur server please. Making a 20k bill wasnt a big amount.
Overall a bad experience....
Read moreDisclosure- Did not dine here, so this review is purely for the booking process and communication and handling by the staff. Praia joins the growing list of haughty and borderline rude restaurants in Mumbai. After communicating extensively- both through phone and messaging- over two days trying to book a table, they were unable to provide feedback and stopped replying completely and we were finally told that they are sold-out. This was because they had a cover charge and the payment refused to go through but no option was provided even to pre-pay in person because they just have terrible communication. Also, when the staff was asked for a menu on the phone, because we could not find one online, we were told "just come here and see". A restaurant experience does not begin only when someone eats a meal and poor and standoffish communication before even entering a restaurant puts you off the...
