I attended the Sunday Brunch at Seven Kitchens, St.Regis for the second time on 26.09.21 with a group of friends. It was anything but a pleasant experience and here’s why There were a few changes made since the last time- firstly, there was a live band playing right throughout last time but there was nothing of the sort this time around. Secondly, one of the primary reasons for choosing St. Regis over most other hotels is its location and view. The view from seven kitchens added so much to the ambience of the brunch, however sadly, it has now been blocked off as they have divided the restaurant off. Now coming to assessing just this brunch experience. Reservation Starting at the very beginning with the booking, we wanted to avail of a dineout passport offer so I called to find out more about it, not once, but twice to confirm whether or not I had to make the reservation through the dineout app or if I could avail of this offer if I made a reservation directly with the restaurant. I’m sure you can guess where I’m heading with this- On arriving, we cross checked with the manager, and were informed that we couldn’t redeem the offer since we didn’t use the App to make a booking. They did give us a 15% off, this is something they offer bigger groups anyway so make of that what you will. Buffet Seven kitchens offers a lovely, widespread selection that covers a number of cuisines and though most of it was lovely (the sushi is a must try!) the live counters is where they lack not only in terms of coordination but also the most essential part of any live counter – Properly Cooked Food!! Our table received THREE raw dishes from the grill counter, each order was placed separately with more than 15 minute time intervals so no, they were not all part of the same batch. This makes me wonder if their commis are being properly instructed on cook time to begin with. Though the wait-staff did send out a chef de partie to apologize after we complained the first time. So we thought we’d give the grill counter another try and the same thing happened yet again- raw food- complain- chef came to apologize. We then tried a THIRD time and YET AGAIN got raw food! I don’t think I’ve got raw food three times over at any restaurant even if it’s just a crack in the wall kinda place so the last place I’d expect something like this to happen at is when the restaurant is located at St. Regis! Definitely not for the prices they are charging! Further more, we placed an order at the live Italian counter for a pizza and a pasta. We waited over hour only to find out that the dishes were sent to another table despite having the correct table number on record- not to mention that we checked back twice and that our table was just across from the Italian counter. After effects The next day, those of us who ate from the grill counter found ourselves with the worst case of food poisoning, unable to retain even a simple toast!
So in conclusion, when I go for a Sunday brunch- especially when im paying so much- properly cooked food is meant to be a given, or so I thought. Things like the ambience, the band, the view are what I hope for but didn’t get at Seven kitchens. However what I did get was raw food, food poisoning and a missed day of work. When I called to let the manager know, he offered a free weekday dinner for two. Will I even go back? It’s traumatic to even think of...

An enormous and extraordinary sign is the manner in which I would describe 'Seven Kitchens'. Ensured about unflinchingly at St. Regis Hotel at Mumbai, Seven Kitchens is the housing's technique for appearing to the world all it needs to bring to the table. Overpowering size diner that works for the duration of the day and the whole night considering its customers with authentic delight. The top of the line restaurant is notice excellent for its size alone. Semi open kitchens flanks the room toward one side and the rest of the room is taken over by devouring and show locales. The look is contemporary arranged mindfully as not to take an extreme measure of room. The devouring locale is enormous and meandering aimlessly broken by adding slice screens to engage insurance. Restaurant puts out overwhelming spread of buffet to offer wearisome collection. You would find dishes from various districts cooked wonderfully by the competent connoisseur trained professionals. The staff is for the most part helpful and will make your experience pleasant and welcoming.

Read moreThe St Regis hotel needs no introduction, and one of it's most famous attractions is Seven Kitchens. We were tempted by the buffet, and visited here for lunch. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed and ushered into the dining section, as well as given a tour of the vast spread on offer. I have been to many, many buffets, but none quite as expansive as this one. We then picked a table next to the window, overlooking some lush green fields and the stage was set for a feast. Amongst the starters we had Chicken Drumsticks, Boiled Eggs, Lamb Meatballs, Mac and Cheese, Grilled Basa and Rosemary Potatoes. And not one of them disappointed. The meatballs and the mac were the pick of the lot in my opinion, with the potatoes not far behind. We were then served some chaat items, such as Paani Puri, Sev Puri and Dahi Puri, and we really liked all of them, paani puri being the standout item. Just then our first round of drinks arrived, Negroni, which was a gin based cocktail and it was another winner, I loved the Campari flavour. Up next was Thai Prawns, Asian Chicken Salad and Corn. All three were superb, the prawns in particular were meaty and yummy, an absolute must-have. This was followed by some sushi, one crab based and another salmon based. Now I don't always like sushi, and this was one of those times, so maybe it was just not to my taste rather than actually being below par. For our next drink we asked for Long Island Iced Tea, and though it was not on the menu, they were able to prepare it for us. It could've been a little stronger, perhaps it had a little too much of soft drinks but that's nitpicking, there really wasn't much to be critical about. And as is the case with buffets, we didn't focus much on the mains, so had just the solitary butter roti with chicken and prawns preparations (the names of the dishes escape me now). Both were amazing, I wish I could've had more but I had to reserve some space for the desserts. With the largest dessert spread I have ever seen, I had to be choosy, and I picked Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Cake, Blueberry Brownie (I think that's what it was) and two more items served in glasses (again my memory let's me down). The chocolate cake was just too good, the red not too bad either, whereas the brownie was a little underwhelming, could've been a tad more dense. With that we wrapped up the lunch, our tummies threatening to undo our belts. To sum up then, Seven Kitchens is one incredibly impressive experience to savour, I highly recommend everyone visit at least once. Food, drinks, service, hospitality, hygiene, it ticks all the boxes. No doubt your wallet/purse will feel lighter afterwards, but you would struggle to find a...
