By The Mekong - A Must-Try Restaurant in Mumbai - India

It is very well known that Mumbai is a city that's full of surprises, thrill, and enjoyment, and one of the latest additions to the culinary scene is By The Mekong. Located in the bustling Lower Parel neighborhood, this restaurant offers a unique blend of contemporary and traditional Southeast Asian cuisine that is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Atmosphere and Ambiance

The first thing that strikes you as you enter By The Mekong is the restaurant's stunning decor. With its elegant, minimalist design and soothing lighting, the ambiance is ideal for a relaxing and comfortable dining experience. The restaurant's interior is decorated with intricate wooden latticework, which adds a touch of rustic charm to the modern furnishings.

Service

The staff at By The Mekong are attentive, knowledgeable, and polite. They greet you warmly as you enter and are happy to provide recommendations and suggestions for dishes to try. The service is prompt, and you can expect your food to arrive quickly after you've placed your order.

Food

By The Mekong's menu features a wide range of dishes from Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and China. The restaurant is known for its dim sum, which is a must-try if you visit. The  prawn sui mai, and the shrimp and chive dumplings are among the most popular dishes. If you're a fan of seafood, you should try the whole steamed fish, which is cooked to perfection with ginger and scallions.

For those who prefer meat, the Sichuan pepper chicken, crispy lamb, and Thai green curry are all excellent choices. Vegetarians will also be spoilt for choice, with options such as the vegetarian dumplings, crispy lotus stem, and mushroom and water chestnut dim sum.

Value for Money

The prices at By The Mekong are reasonable, considering the quality of the food and service. You can expect to pay around INR 2,000 to INR 3,000 for a meal for two, including drinks.

Overall, By The Mekong is a restaurant that should be on your must-try list if you're in Mumbai. The ambiance, food, and service are all top-notch, and the restaurant offers an excellent value for money. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, newly married couples, or just looking for a new dining experience, By The Mekong is definitely worth a visit. This was an Unforgettable Culinary experience in Mumbai – ‘By The Mekong’ is Pure Perfection!

From the moment you step into By The Mekong on the 37th floor of The St. Regis - Mumbai, you know you're in for something truly special. This isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience that touches every sense, earning my highest recommendation.

The food is quite simply, phenomenal. It’s a vibrant and authentic exploration of Southeast Asian flavors.

From Jasmine rice & Vietnamese noodles to richly aromatic curries and perfectly grilled skewers, every bite was a revelation.

The ingredients are clearly of the highest quality, and the culinary team's expertise shines through.

It's evident that immense care and passion go into crafting each plate.

The service is equally impeccable. The staff especially the very warm & friendly hostesses Ms. ATU & Ms. LENLY are incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm.

Mr. RAJBIR & his colleagues, in the service team are very sincere & courteous. He anticipates your needs without ever being intrusive.

They guide you through the menu with grace, offering insightful recommendations.

This level of personalized and polished service truly elevates the entire evening.

And then there's the view – absolutely spectacular! Perched on the 37th floor, By The Mekong offers breathtaking panoramic vistas of Mumbai's skyline.

Dining here, as the city lights twinkle below creates an incredibly romantic and luxurious experience.

It's a view that's as captivating as the food itself, adding an unforgettable dimension to your meal.

By The Mekong at The St. Regis Mumbai is more than just a restaurant; For anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience with great food, exceptional service, and a truly magnificent view, look no further.

This is a must-visit for lovers of Southeast Asian cuisine and anyone who appreciates true culinary excellence. I cannot...

It is set on the 18th floor of the St. Regis hotel in Parel district of Mumbai. An exclusive restaurant that serves authentic Chinese food with a Chinese chef that we actually got to meet and thank at the end of our dinner there. The views of the city are stunning and even more so in the night sky.

There were 15 of us that went here to celebrate a family event. We asked for and were given a separate room that even included its own bathroom. Two of the 4 walls were complete glass windows that offered great views. The setting was fabulous and memorable.

We went for a set menu that had an abundance of starters, main course and desserts. We ordered the drinks separately that included a generous selection of Champagnes and Wines. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were larger than I could handle. We initially did a sampling of the starters and asked for 2nd servings of the starters that we really enjoyed. I would particularly recommend the Dumplings and the Radish based starters. The service was excellent and very prompt.

There was a large assortment of desserts to choose from. By popular demand we asked for and were served this Tender Coconut based dessert which was delightful, though the quantity was small. But that was more than made up by the Chocolate cake that we had ordered, some of which we had to pack and take home.

When it came to the bill, the staff pointed out that me by being a Marriott (SPG program) Gold Member, I was entitled to a 15% discount on the bill. This was a pleasant surprise as it saved us quite a bit on our bill.

The Chef came out and many of us got to shake his hand and thank him for the wonderful dining experience we had had.

Overall, a very memorable experience at 'By the Mekong'. Would highly...

Its was not bad but it was weird in someway. The restaurant is part of palladium but entrance for car park is separate. We own a small hatch and were not allowed in at first by security making me think that i need to park elsewhere upon enquiring further I was asked to go back to the same entrance and this time the security let us in and apologized. While waiting for the elevator we were asked to take a different one as some vip's were about to arrive. We ordered 5 items from the menu and one of them was soup which was served as 1 / 2, for some reason it was presumed that we will split a soup between 2, waiter did apologies for it. The food is good in general matches the expectation, staff is courteous. They don't wear name tags but the feedback form asks for name which I found interesting. at some spots its a little too dark for elders I think as I could see few elders were using their phones torch to read menu. It would be fine, If this was some random drinking session with friends but it was me and my wife's birthday. I have had the fortune of experiencing most of the notable hotels and their restaurants and I believe this one is very well suited for corporate events or fun time with friends.

My experience at By The Mekong was absolutely phenomenal! This restaurant, located on the 37th floor of St. Regis, offers an exquisite and authentic selection of Chinese/Asian cuisine that left my taste buds delighted. The burnt garlic rice was an absolute standout, bursting with flavors that took the dish to a whole new level. And let's talk about their desserts - simply divine! Each sweet bite was a heavenly treat that left me craving for more. Aside from the mouthwatering food, the restaurant boasts an incredible skyline view of Mumbai that creates a magical atmosphere. The luxurious interior design further enhances the dining experience, making it truly memorable. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu. I cannot recommend By The Mekong enough. It's the perfect place for anyone who appreciates delectable Asian cuisine, stunning vistas, and an all-around wonderful dining experience. A definite must-visit!
