I recently tried the much-hyped batata vada at Shree Krishna Batata Wada in Dadar, and honestly, I was left disappointed. The taste was quite ordinary — nothing extraordinary or unique about it. I had high expectations given the name and long-standing reputation, but the flavor didn’t stand out at all. To top it off, the pricing was shockingly high — ₹27 for just one single vada (not even a plate!). For a simple street snack that’s supposed to be pocket-friendly and satisfying, this felt like a complete rip-off.
There was no chutney or accompaniment that enhanced the taste, and the vada itself lacked spice and crunch. It felt like they were cashing in purely on the legacy or nostalgia rather than actual quality or taste. In a city like Mumbai, where you get amazing batata vadas at countless local joints, this place didn’t meet expectations at all.
If you're a true batata vada lover, I’d suggest exploring other options around Dadar or even in nearby areas — there are definitely better places in terms of both taste and value for money. My honest opinion — a BIG NO to this place. Not worth the hype...

Read moreHave been visiting this place for many years. It is one of the most famous spots for bata vadas in Dadar West.
Vada taste does fluctuate but you won't be ever disappointed by it. The size of vada is good but I still feel cost is higher.
Samosas we had were tasty too. It had good size filling compared to what people are serving post lockdown.
One can get sabudana vadas, dahi vadas, kothimbir vadi and kanda bhaji at this place but the place is known for its Batata vadas.
Moong dal bhaji are delicious with chutney and I feel are plenty. They have a great crispy outer coat and a spongy inside.
The establishment itself has expanded a considerably offering many varieties through several sections.
