My Honest Review of Fig at Malcha — A Conscious Food Experience in Delhi’s Heart

Finding a restaurant that balances soulful food, aesthetic ambience, and mindful dining isn’t easy in Delhi — but Fig at Malcha truly captures that rare essence. Nestled in the calm lanes of Malcha Marg, this beautiful glasshouse café feels like an escape from the city chaos, where every corner breathes tranquility and taste.

I visited for lunch, and from the moment I stepped in, the place radiated a serene, almost European charm — tall ceilings, natural sunlight pouring through glass walls, a hint of greenery, and that comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The staff greeted warmly, setting the tone for what turned out to be one of my most delightful dining experiences in recent times.

Coming to the food — it’s not just a menu, it’s a story of sustainability, freshness, and craftsmanship. The dishes are consciously curated, made with locally sourced ingredients and presented like art on a plate. I tried the Burrata Toast, which was an explosion of creamy and tangy perfection. The Shakshuka was hearty, full of flavor, and beautifully balanced. For the main course, the Wood-Fired Pizza stood out — thin crust, crisp edges, and that authentic smoky note you can only get from a true oven.

The desserts were another highlight — the Basque Burnt Cheesecake simply melted in the mouth, light yet indulgent. Pairing it with their signature cold brew made for an unforgettable finish.

What impressed me most was their attention to detail — from the cutlery to the plating, and even the playlist that flows gently in the background. The place strikes a beautiful balance between luxury and comfort.

If I had to summarize: ✨ Ambience: 10/10 – peaceful, modern, and photogenic. 🍽️ Food Quality: 9.5/10 – every dish feels fresh and thoughtfully made. ☕ Drinks & Desserts: 9/10 – excellent range and presentation. 💸 Price: Slightly premium, but worth every bite for the experience. 👨‍🍳 Service: Courteous, attentive, and patient even...

It is a very spacious and warmly done cafe in Malcha Marg market. Warm soothing tones with a good ambience. Built on the ground and 1st floor and an open kitchen. Nice background music. We checked out the menu nicely and the servers explained the listed items nicely. We ordered for a pizza. One can order half of one and half of another variety. Mediterranean and farm fresh two halves to make one pizza. This is a nice concept that one can order two different pizzas in Half to make one whole. About 3 inches was burnt in one side. Then white sauce ribbon pasta was not good. Quite dry and bland less sauce. Also, the hand rolled pasta was thick. Cold coffee iced frappe was not good either. Seemed that the beans were over roasted giving it a burnt taste. Rs 340 for a coffee but not worth it. On giving feedback they had changed but it was not good. Seemed as if the manager took offence to the fact that we didn’t like the coffee cos I requested to cancel. He was like no one complaints for their coffee and it is the best but I can guarantee it’s no where close. He was insisting and trying to put words in my mouth to admit that the coffee was not per my palette because 3-4 times he made this statement so ma’am we can say that the coffee was not to your taste or palette. This attitude is not good. I requested for the service tax to removed. They did but post that the server ddnt even look at us while earlier he was enthusiastically detailing the menu and telling us what his kid likes. Ddnt feel comfortable with...

I recently visited Fig at Malcha, located at Malcha Marg, and it turned out to be a truly delightful experience. The first thing that struck me was the ambiance, chic, warm, and thoughtfully designed, making it the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. It had that perfect balance of being stylish yet cozy, ideal for both a casual outing and a slightly more special occasion.

Since the restaurant is quite popular, there was about a 40-minute waiting period before we could get a table. While the wait felt a bit long, it also built up the anticipation. Once seated, however, I was pleasantly surprised by how quick and efficient the service was. The staff were polite, attentive, and ensured we had a smooth dining experience.

For my meal, I ordered an iced latte, a burrata pizza, and a Mexican bean burger. The iced latte was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and just what I needed. The burrata pizza was indulgent, with creamy burrata complementing the flavors beautifully, and easily became my favorite of the evening. The Mexican bean burger was hearty, flavorful, and packed just the right amount of punch.

What stood out for me was that not just the food, but even the menu itself was well-curated, offering an interesting range of options to suit different moods and preferences.

Overall, everything from the ambiance to the service and food came together wonderfully. Despite the waiting time, it was absolutely worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would definitely love to go...

Fig was sublimely formal, riding on Malcha Marg's high horse. Never once does it occur that the concept behind this place was supposed to defy the restaurant culture. Shoutout to the (Tofu) Summer Rolls, they are simple yet scrumptious; a healthy alternative than the mundane momos Delhi is obsessed about. They have a continental menu that does not abide by any particular cuisine's label, all fiesty choices that I loved. Sadly, no desserts here but i believe Fig with their flare for conscious eating could have carved a niche in that departement too! (sigh) While, Fig is mindful of the intricate nuances when it comes to the taste of food, the place does glaringly defy all odds with their beverage menu. Imagine this: post your morning tea/coffee at home, you come out to Fig and enjoy delectable plates, big and small. But there is a catch, to your surprise the beverage menu is bleak, and leaves you with limited choices: smoothies, teas, coffees and a Perrier lemon water at best to quench your thirst. One wonders, why would a ginger ale or a home-made iced tea be an impediment to a business that dishes out mouth-watering food? Instead, why can't they be a reason for diners to indulge more? Saves the time to look for a drink and dessert elsewhere! The food should not be missed but the feeling dons that something was amiss. Maybe, the winter tale vibe thrives when December descends.
