Title: Disappointing Experience at New Sikkim House

I recently visited New Sikkim House with high expectations, but unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Upon arrival, my party and I were greeted with a 30-minute wait, and what was particularly disappointing was the lack of professionalism in managing priority-based entry. The wait seemed disorganized, and it was evident that the staff could improve in efficiently handling customer flow.

A crucial piece of information for future patrons is to plan their visit before 1:30 pm if they wish to indulge in the restaurant's purported best seller, the "thali." Regrettably, we missed out on this opportunity, as the thali is not served after 2:40 pm. This limitation should be communicated more clearly to avoid disappointment.

The main letdown, however, was the quality of the food. Every dish we ordered seemed to share a common flaw – a lack of salt and, consequently, a complete absence of any discernible flavors. It was disheartening to find that not a single item on the menu met our expectations. The lack of seasoning detracted significantly from what should have been an enjoyable culinary experience.

Despite the disappointing meal, I must acknowledge that the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance, and the staff, while lacking in organizational skills during the wait, were courteous. However, these positive aspects failed to compensate for the primary reason we visited – the food.

In conclusion, I would advise potential diners to carefully consider their visit to New Sikkim House. If improvements are made in terms of timely service, clearer communication about menu availability, and most importantly, the taste of the dishes, this restaurant has the potential to become a much more satisfying dining destination. Until then, it falls short of its potential and fails to deliver on the promise of a memorable...

I didn't get time to click pictures but I definitely have the bill so I can help you out in selecting something what I loved. Chicken fried momos, you can have steam too they taste the same but the chutney is to die for.. it will make you sweat throughout your course. Hot and sour soup chicken and tum yum soup chicken .... Both go amazingly well. Spicy and filled with amazing veggies. Chicken fried rice and kungpo .just yum...and medium spicy.

Tingmo..... It's a bao basically without any filling. You can add it if you have some place left to finish that killer chutney because you would not want to go back home without finishing it.

Chicken salt and pepper... I missed beer here when I had this one ... Again it's amazing with the crunches.

And yes thumbs up or anything to drink you must have because all that spicy goodness can't go down without it.

Definitely.i am coming back. Btw my bill was of 2k for me, daughter and my husband and we were full. We ended up packing the fried rice.

Hygiene is 5/5 Ac is poorly working because even the ac can't beat this heat at 48 degrees so don't blame the AC. The fans do lend their helping hand.

The ambience is very very good... If you like culture vibe of Sikkim restaurants this place will give it to you.

The staff is amazing with their choices that they want you to try if you get lost in the menu. They won't push you to eat something that you won't like.

PLEASE DONT ORDER NAAN AND DAL IF YOU HAVE COME TO A SIKKIM HOUSE.

FOR DAL AND NAAN PANDARA...

I recently dined at New Sikkim House in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, and it was a delightful experience that truly showcased the vibrant flavors of Sikkimese cuisine. The ambiance is calm and welcoming, with a simple yet charming setup that makes you feel at home. The highlight was the Thakali thali, a beautifully presented spread featuring fragrant rice, kali dal, fresh veggies, and a mildly spicy curry that perfectly balanced flavor and comfort. I opted for the chicken thali (₹299), and the tender meat in a light, flavorful gravy was a standout. The steamed chicken momos (₹220) were another gem—juicy, well-seasoned, and paired with a fiery tomato-chilli chutney that added just the right kick. I also tried the thukpa, a hearty noodle soup with fresh vegetables and chicken, which was both warming and delicious, priced reasonably at around ₹200. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt like a steal for the quality and authenticity. The staff was courteous and efficient, adding to the overall pleasant vibe. The apple fruit beer (₹60) was a refreshing surprise, and I couldn’t resist grabbing a few bottles to go! Despite limited parking, arriving early made it manageable. New Sikkim House is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Northeastern flavors in a cozy setting. Highly recommend

I recently visited New Sikkim House Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, and it was quite an experience. I reached there around 2 PM and was surprised to see a large crowd already waiting. The popularity of the place was evident from the number of people patiently standing in line, waiting for their turn. I had to wait for about 30 minutes before getting a seat, but I must say—it was worth it. The ambiance of the restaurant was simple yet welcoming, reflecting the charm of Sikkimese culture. The staff was courteous and managed the rush efficiently, which made the waiting experience more bearable. Once seated, I quickly placed my order and looked forward to trying their traditional dishes. Out of everything I tried, the Thenthuk stood out the most. It was incredibly tasty—warm, hearty, and full of authentic flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the broth had just the right balance of spices and freshness. It felt like a comforting homemade dish, and I could tell it was prepared with care. Despite the wait, I really enjoyed my visit. If you're a fan of Tibetan or Sikkimese cuisine, I’d definitely recommend trying New Sikkim House. Just be prepared for a little wait, especially on weekends—it’s popular for a reason!

I just left the New Sikkim House Restaurant, and honestly, it was such a delightful surprise! 🍜 I had been wanting to try authentic Sikkimese food for a while, and this place truly delivered. The ambiance was unassuming and cozy, making it feel very welcoming – like a little piece of Sikkim tucked away in Delhi. I ordered the chicken momos, and they were absolutely perfect: juicy, flavorful, and served with a fantastic spicy chutney that had just the right kick. I also tried a portion of their pork curry with bamboo shoot, which was rich and aromatic, totally different from anything I've had before. The flavors were so distinct and genuine, a real taste of the Himalayas. 🏔️ The service was prompt and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. It wasn't just a meal; it was an adventure for my taste buds! I truly felt like I got to explore a new culinary tradition. If you're looking for something unique and genuinely delicious, New Sikkim House is definitely worth a visit. I'm already planning my next trip back to try their thukpa! 🥰
