Authentic North Indian Street Food Experience at Jain Chawal Wale! If you’re a fan of authentic North Indian street food, Jain Chawal Wale in Connaught Place is a must-visit! Located right in the heart of Delhi, this legendary eatery has earned its reputation for serving delicious, wholesome, and affordable meals that are perfect for a quick bite or a filling lunch. I’ve been to Jain Chawal Wale several times, and each visit leaves me craving for more. Their Rajma Chawal is an absolute favorite—flavorful and well-cooked rajma (kidney beans) served on a bed of fluffy rice, topped with desi ghee, and a side of salad and pickles. The rich, homely taste reminds you of a good homemade meal. For someone like me who loves comfort food, this dish is heaven! Their Chole Bhature is another hit—a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and savory flavors with piping hot bhature that are soft and perfectly fried. The portion size is generous, making it ideal for sharing if you’re not too hungry. The place is especially popular during lunchtime, so expect a crowd, but the service is quick and efficient. Despite being packed, the staff manages the queue well and makes sure the customers are served promptly. The food is always fresh and hygienic, which is important for street-style food places. For those who prefer lighter fare, they offer a variety of parathas, kachori sabzi, and lassi that are equally delectable. Their aloo puri is another crowd favorite—it’s simple yet packed with flavors that are quintessentially North Indian. The combination of fried, crispy puris and spicy aloo curry is addictive. The ambiance is casual, with minimal seating, which is typical of such joints, but the focus here is entirely on the food. People mostly stand or grab a quick bite, and you won’t mind the lack of comfort when the food is this good. Prices are very reasonable considering the location and quality of food. One small downside is the lack of parking and seating space, but it’s a trade-off I’m willing to make for the food quality. If you’re someone who enjoys a quick street food meal in a bustling environment, you’ll love the experience. Jain Chawal Wale is also a pure vegetarian place, so if you’re looking for good, vegetarian food, this is the place to be. Overall, I highly recommend Jain Chawal Wale to anyone visiting Connaught Place. Whether you’re a Delhi local or a tourist, you’ll love the authentic, mouth-watering dishes that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. It’s a true gem for lovers of North Indian food, and I’ll definitely keep coming back!

Even one star is enough. Do not recommend this place at all. This outlet does not serve food but sells it. Any person who enjoys eating food will understand what I am trying to emphasise. The man at the counter is there to collect money and distribute coupons.. Haldiram style. But there is zero Haldiram style comfort. Nobody can relish food if it is not served well and consumed with convenience. There is no table where you can put your plate and eat. Holding disposable plates with hot food becomes difficult to handle. While eating my shirt too got a taste of food but didn't relish it. It got annoyed! Just because this is an old eatery people drop in here, order some food of their choice and walk back to their car parked bang on the footpath. But not everybody comes in a car and that is the biggest trouble. How and where will you eat? Nobody cares.. the shopkeeper has got his bounty and those around you don't care. Many people feel it's prices are reasonable but I found it just opposite. The quantity of food that is dished out too does not justify the prices. Try at any similar roadside eatery and prices will be almost the same. More so, the surroundings are dirty, clumsy and unhygienic. My mood gets spoiled whenever I am at Jain Chawal Wala. I will, instead, recommend to walk a few yards ahead on Baba Kharak Singh Marg and drop in at Bikanervala. Hundred times better. The ultimate choice is yours but I have stopped visiting this eating joint though I have known it for almost four decades. Today this outlet is merely encashing on the name it has earned in the past.

Even on a normal day there are hoards of people lining up for some excellent food. Service is quick and taste sumptuous. Classic are the Rajma-rice and kadhi-rice, but lots of options in both sweet and savoury. Prices are such that it doesn't hit the pocket too much and to add surrounding area is bustling and there is always plenty to do. Jain Chawal wala shows how a dish traditionally from Western Punjab of undivided India have gained so much popularity in India. The shop is located in CP, and is in P-Black very near to Khadi India. I must go shop for foodies travelling and loving in Delhi Ohhh... This was the place i was missing for so long. The hot rajma chawal served here with papad and onion is just the right thing one can ask for on a chilly weather. This place is usually crowded but ensures fast service. There are no seating arrangement in the hotel, though there are couple of tables outside the place where you can eat which all in all adds the signature experience of the restaurant. There are plenty of options in the menu including kadhi chawal, chole bhature, chole chawal but i have only had rajma chawal here. Must visit if you are in and around CP. This place has been awarded best rajma chawal place in Delhi for a lot t many years.

The restaurant is located in a small shop in the middle of Connaught Place. It is a no-frills establishment with simple seating. However, the food is the real star of the show. The dishes at Jain Chawal Wale are made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The flavors are simple but delicious, and the portions are generous. The prices at Jain Chawal Wale are very reasonable. A full meal will cost you around Rs. 100. The service at Jain Chawal Wale is friendly and efficient. The staff is always happy to help you choose the right dish and answer any questions you may have. Overall, Jain Chawal Wale is a great option for travelers looking for a delicious and affordable vegetarian meal in Connaught Place. Here are some of the pros and cons of Jain Chawal Wale: Pros: Delicious and affordable food Simple and no-frills establishment Friendly and efficient service Cons: Can be crowded during peak hours Limited seating Overall, Jain Chawal Wale is a great option for travelers looking for a delicious and affordable vegetarian meal in Connaught Place. However, if you are looking for a more spacious and comfortable restaurant, you may want to consider other options in the area.

If you're looking for a quick bite. Then you must visit Comfort: they only sell comfort food. You won't be provided any other comfort from them. Food: Their food is like an authentic delhi North Indian food. I being from Mumbai can classify alot of food taste difference in a good way. We ordered 1. pyaz aloo Paratha dolled up with cube of butter which came with aloo ragda sabzi, accompanied by achaar. It was good mild taste of spices, sweetness of onion and butter did alot of work, it tastes best with achar. 2. Cholle bhature with achar and pyaaz , nimbu slice as sides. The cholle they served was brownish in colour, it was kabuli chana however it was brownish it also has aloo in that, bhature wasn't hard stiff it was easy to chew and also not very giant and crispy. It had soft texture. 3. Lassi which was not having malai. Also a day before visiting this munching place we also ordered rajma chawal from them at midnight which tasted much better then anything 🥺

Hi friends this is my second time writing a review for Jain Chawal Wala. Now I am very disappointed after watching that being on such a good platform and taking crowds of more than a thousand maybe in a day these people literally ignore any hygiene rule they can. I visited this place last night and the scene was as usual It was all crowded. I will talk about hygiene and sanitation issues these people need to focus on. It's not always about the taste of the food but also about who serves them. Nobody in the kitchen wore a hair net, no gloves, no hygienic utensils and not even a clean front. No doubt you people are serving the best taste of delhi for a long time but sorry your kitchen was all messed up and I believe you have more than enough revenue to at least provide hygienic food. Please check my pictures carefully the food we eat is all messed up into each other. Please dont just go with a name but also with the purity of their will to serve customers.
