Grand Hotel — Restaurant in Pune

I did hear of this place but got to visit today. It is a quite place in the heart of the city with good ample space for seating and parking space.

Ambience: No high fundoo ambience. However very nice under open air and basic ambience. Good for a get together with friends for beer and food.

Food: This was very surprising as all the food they served was delicious and super tasty. I did not expected this tasty food here. We ordered tandoori chicken and it was very juicy and moist with nice and very tasty masala applied on it. Served hot and now I know where to go for food tandoori chicken. Then the chicken tikka which was ok as it was a bit dry and average. Then the pahadi chicken kebab was also very good and tasty with the wrapping of egg omlette on it. It was nice and moist too. We also ordered Egg omlette and it was also good however it was a bit costly (100/-) Then for main course we ordered chicken hakka noodles which was also good and good amount of chicken in it.

Drinks: We ordered Tuborg beer and Bacardi Breezer blackberry. The only disappointment here is they only serve beer and no hard drinks. That too only mild beer and no strong beer they serve.

Service: It was fantastic. They attended us all the time infact we never had to call them they were very nice and prompt in giving service.

I would recommend this place for those who would like to njoi with friends on mild beer and...

We spent half a day searching Pune for somewhere to stay, many cheap options near the train station don't allow foreigners, the ones that do were pretty dire and over priced for what they were (I wouldn't have stayed at the ones near the station even if they were free). The Grand Hotel was 800 Rs a night, about double or maybe tripple what you would pay for the same room in a town which tourists go through. My gf just told me to downgrade the 2 for cleanliness to a 1, it was pretty grim and hadn't been cleaned since the previous occupants had checked out (even though we arrived at 9pm). We ran out of water at least once, the power was intermitent and we are pretty sure a couple of the staff were trying to look in through a gap in a door which connects the room to another part of the hotel. That said the hotel is in a good location, there is a supermarket and booze shop over the road and the hotel itself serve cold beer and good chicken dishes (although I saw the chef drop a piece of my chicken before fishing it out and putting it...

Its a Grand old place in Camp. Spend a Quite,peaceful and relaxing Sunday afternoon with Beers and friends. If you are in a hurry to get your orders then its not a place for you so dont complain about the service. Relax and have your beers and lovely Chicken tandoori. Only beers, pitchers and towers are served here with limited items in their menu. Most of the times you will find regular patrons visiting this place, well thats for the years of attachment towards it. I just love the entire vicinity of hotel Grand, the open restaurant surrounded by those big old trees calms you down. Now a days you hardly find such places in Pune.
