Our recent evening at @smoorchocolates was nothing short of a delightful escape into a world where every bite whispers, “This is what happiness tastes like.” Accompanied by my little food critics—Haider and Maryam—and my better half, Fatema, we embarked on a culinary journey that SMOOR orchestrated like a symphony of flavors.

We started with the Melon Salad Bowl, a masterpiece featuring fresh feta cheese that even the kids couldn’t resist. (Who knew salad could win their hearts?!) Next came the Avocado and Negi Sushi, a perfect blend of creamy and umami. For the kids, the Apollo Chicken Pizza, sans jalapeños, was a hit—because spice and tiny taste buds don’t mix.

Then came SMOOR’s pièce de résistance: the Chef’s Special Caramel Hot Chocolate. Imagine wrapping yourself in a blanket of caramel on a chilly evening—that’s what it felt like in a cup. The kids sipped on Belgium Iced Chocolate, which they described as “chocolate heaven but cold!” And finally, the New York Cheesecake arrived, silky and smooth, ending our meal on the sweetest note possible.

But let’s not forget SMOOR’s essence—luxury chocolates crafted with love and precision. Did you know that SMOOR began in 2015, bringing artisanal chocolate-making to India? Their name derives from the Nordic word for “butter,” symbolizing richness and indulgence. Whether it’s their decadent bonbons or velvety hot chocolates, SMOOR redefines what it means to indulge.

SMOOR isn’t just a café; it’s an experience where the everyday becomes extraordinary. As they say, “When life gives you chocolate, don’t ask questions—just eat!”

Disappointing Experience – Quality and Service Deteriorated

Today’s visit to Smoor was quite disappointing. The quantity and quality of food have noticeably deteriorated.

We initially ordered 3 coffees and a pan-seared chicken, which we were told would take at least 15 minutes to prepare. Meanwhile, we added a few more items to our order. While all the other dishes were served, the pan-seared chicken was completely missed. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it, by that time we had already finished our other food.

The same staff member who took our chicken order also took an order for butter croissant. Although we ordered two, one was brought to our table. We didn’t complain, as the croissant was extremely disappointing — not fresh, very hard, lacking any crispiness. It felt like eating plain bread. We’ve had croissants at small local cafes too, and they were far better than what we were served here.

To top it off, we ordered a strawberry pistachio tart, which was hard to even cut through with a knife. There was no noticeable pistachio flavor — it was bland and underwhelming.

While the coffees were acceptable, Smoor is known for its desserts and chocolate — not just coffee. If that’s all that’s decent now, it’s a letdown.

Overall: • Poor service • Missed orders • Stale and disappointing desserts • No value for a premium brand experience
