Eatery Name : Kerala Cafe
Amid my Schooling, my encompassing was a greater amount of Nair's, Menon's and so on .. regardless of whether they were my besties or my educator's surname, So Yes when it generally comes to South Indian foods, I absolutely review my School days...
...what's more, and talking on the food, have share part of tiffin's with my Pals (South Indians) so to some broaden I can relate the realness of south Indian food served at credible eateries...
With that take, I as of late happen to visit at "Kerala - Cafe, Kalyani Nagar outlet"
On Ambience prior Tyum = ongoing Kerala - Cafe, and to be explicit on the infrastructure, with the exception of restaurant name, Menu, and Team(assuming) rest nothing has changed...
On Food
Appetizer[]
Normally, I avoid the Soup segment from the restaurant except if it serving something else, so we requested,
Veg Kappa Soup ::: Stew cooked with in-house flavors and bland substance, #youmayskip
Kozhi Koll Soup ::: clear soup with combination kind of Chicken and Drumstick, What a paradise to have it in this chilling winter in the open roof top restaurant. #GiveaShot.
Starters [] Paneer Malabar Chili ::: Sautéed Paneer with regional flavors, anyway some way or another chef neglected to legitimize this starter. What we can taste was Paneer ( in the event that you can relate taste with frozen paneer) additionally the flavors covering was not in any way done slyly. So #Notrecommended in any event at this diner.
Chicken Leg Fry ::: Crunchy Chicken leg pan fried with local flavors, mind-boggling flavor, and delicacy, A #Musttry.
Main Course [] Veg Appam Thali ::: contains Paneer Pepper Fry, Veg Mappas (it is a coconut drain based curry that is one of a kind to Kerala), 3 x Appam and Payasam
A nice amount thali for a solitary individual, in the event that you are attempting Veg South thali out of the blue, I would incline toward you better check twice per your taste requires, the veggie individual who was alongside me not shown me the satisfaction after his feast.
Chicken Appam Thali: Served with Chicken Roast, Curry, 3 x Appam and Payasam.
Thali was fresh, generous, and prepared to perfection, delighted in the thali till my last nibble.
Appam which were served piping hot n their typical clay pot a true circle of perfection on the other hand "Payasam" served alongside thali was truly not so extraordinary.
On Service Staff is by all accounts supportive, anyway I sees staff ( or if nothing else the individual who went to us ) was not knowledgeable about the thing served in thali's, Specifically I wanted to check the names for 2 coconut chutney's served alongside thali's and consequently I got confounded answer in which he additionally concurred...
An incentive for Money: Not Pocket-Friendly ( Might be because of area + Branding/Franchise + rivalry and so on)
My Experience Report Card: 3/5
...also, you know what, while composing my experience (bill in my hand) and I suddenly understand that an additional thing was charged which we didn't ordered on our table... also, this is totally my carelessness cause we affirmed and paid the bill. So its mix-up from my side and nothing to point the finger at Team Kerala Cafe.

Letter to the owner - Mr. Gim George, for lakhs and lakhs of Malayalee’s living outside Kerala, it’s a fact that your establishment and the likes are a big relief, because we can hope to eat something we like and what tops the list is a Sadhya…
I wish that such establishments were an outcome of passion towards food and service to the community and not just a medium of making money with zero regards to the emotions of your core audience which is not “non-Malayalee’s”, unless you think it is… in which case my experience today might be justified…
Now about my experience, I just had the horrible ever sadhya of my entire life and thanks to you and your team here… your business and expansion plans should be none of my business, but a piece of advice still… first fix your existing business (learn from other Kerala restaurants around) and then if you still don’t succeed, then open another branch and destroy many more Vishu’s and Onam’s … your choice, your life, your business…
This morning my family and I woke up with an excitement of having sadhya, we even waited for 40-45 mins because we had not done the advance booking, just because we remembered that we had enjoyed the sadhya here last year… little did we know that we are in for an utter disappointment… at first after laying down the vazha ela (banana leaf) we kept reminding the employees/servers to start serving, no one cared, eventually when the manager noticed that I was getting angry, he suddenly asked the other servers to attend us and they did, although even in the middle of serving, 1 waiter ended up resting the bowl used for serving on my guests hand without realising that he was obstructing my guest having food (etiquette’s????) … I understand cheaper labor might be the need of the hour, but hire responsibly and definitely not a bunch of idiots… and why would you “owner” or anybody related be absent on such a day? The entire event was being managed by Non-Malayalee's with no one to supervise… nothing against non-Malayalee’s but they wouldn’t know what to cook, how to serve and vice-versa…
Sambar - yuckkkk… how? Parippu payasam - horrible Sharkara pradhaman - messed it up… Few kootucurries - had to skip because of the taste…
And 800rupees + taxes???? 😂🤣😂 I wouldn’t pay more than 150 for what I ate…
Chutiya banao… but itna nahi…
Anyway, I promise… neither me, my family or friends or people I know will set foot into your restaurant ever again…
Keral Cafe sucks!!! And thanks for...
Read moreThe atmosphere reminds me of those Kerala styled huts on the beach. With red terracotta roof tiles, long bulbus pillers and straw lined roofs with thevcool breeze blowing gently makes the atmosphere very calm, very soothing, & relaxing and accompanying that relaxing mood you have soothing groovy music makes you get into that relaxed mood very quickly.
The service staff are really friendly and helpful also they love to make you laugh with their quirky jokes & they are a real fun loving lot. Food is as expected, most of the gravies in the menu are coconut milk based with fresh Curry leaves and black pepper masala.
They have haunting favorite's like Chicken Ghee Roast, Chicken Kurumulagittathu, Squids 65, Thalasseri Curry, Mutton Stew, Prawns pepper fry, Spicy Paneer Roast, Mushrooms Kurumulagittathu, Chicken/Mutton/Vegetable Coconut Curry & who can forget our beloved Sambar with Appam's. Quite frankly they have 2 to 3 menu booklets, and Pamphlets.
After a good 10mins rampaging the menu's, we finally ordered the Chicken Malabari curry with Parota's being among their signatures, we had a Prawn Malabar soup, our starters were Ghee Roast another signature recommend dish by the service staff and also crowd favorite & Squids 65. Our desert was the famous Ada Payasam. And mocktails to guzzle all this down.
Not only the service is super fast with the orders but very efficient. They love their Ghee a lot! The Ghee Roast does full you up fairly quickly, but it was absolutely yumm. And the Spicy squids make a perfect chakna for beer. The main course had a good spicy kick, and a distinctive peppery edge and made with love again in pure Ghee with a thick coconut gravy and hints of pepper, but being made with love it was remarkably light and not too heavy as what you would think, chicken was soft and juicy, Truly yummmmmm! The Parota's were to die for, really soft melt in the mouth feel and warm. And again made with love. Finally after a good meal we break down to seal the deal with the Coconut based jaggery sweetened Ada which was very light and and wholesome.
The place is a good weekend getaway treat for yourself and a good time to be together and have a great meal. It' has very relaxing and soothing vibes and delicious food with a wonderful staff to cater...
