We ordered quite a few items, starting with Tomato Basil Soup (3 by 4), Sticky bacon-wrapped sausages, Spicy Portuguese Chicken Skewers as Pratik suggested, Piri Piri Chicken Flatbread, Basil Sundried Tomato Flatbread, Aglio Olio, and Garlic Bread with Cheese (2 portions).
The Tomato Basil came in cute mugs and lil breadcrumbs as sides. One sip and you knew the taste of basil wasn't compromised at all. Creamy, tangy delightful treat for the palate. What a terrific start to the meal indeed.
I love bacon, especially if they wrapped versions. So when I saw bacon the menu I had to order it. A somewhat sweetish yet spicy aftertaste gave it quite a different twist to this dish. Nice.
Spicy Portuguese Chicken Skewers were terrific. I especially liked the way some part of the chicken was crunchy due to the chargrilled style which gave the meat some smoky aftertaste. Tender, juicy, very well marinated chicken pieces falling off the stick and melting in our mouths. Yummmmmmm.
One dish which we couldn't stop from ordering twice was the amazzzzzing cheese garlic bread. Golden glazed freshly made bread loaf which tasted like it was served to us right out of the oven. Generous helping of mozzarella cheese and garlic makes it the most recommended and most must-have item to be had in TBP. Chummeshwari, I tell you! #highlyrecommended
Piri Piri and Basil Sundried Flatbreads were thin crusted flatbreads/pizzas. Both tasted differently and distinctively apart from each other. Crisp, light, and easy to eat. Wow again.
Then, ladies and gentlemen came the dish of the evening, the superstar of the TBP (according to me), the Aglio Olio pasta #highlyrecommended
Where do I begin describing this virgin olive dream? By default, I always have the Arabitta Pasta but we stumbled upon the Aglio Olio in one of the work lunch dates that me and the wife have every week. And since then, we have Aglio Olio everywhere. But the Aglio Olio at TBP can give even the finest Italian joints, 5 Star places included, a run for their cryptocurrency.
If there were a pasta bible, the first line would read, "In the beginning, God created aglio e olio." Garlic (aglio) and oil (olio) are the most beautiful yet essential building blocks of so many other sauces, but they also make one of the greatest pasta sauces all on their own. I believe that the aglio olio is the most simplest pantry-staples-only pasta sauce in the entire Italian culinary gamut. If you have spaghetti, garlic, salt, and oil, you can make this pasta right now. A dash of parmesan cheese would not hurt either.
Yet, the Aglio Olio at TBP presents gently cooked garlic in a skillet with lots of olive oil until it's very lightly golden. A pinch or two of red pepper flakes making up for the wee bit of spice needed for the Indian palate. The spaghetti as you seen with your own living eyes is absolutely drenched in the uncomplicated yet basic garlic-and-oil flavor. Probably cooking it all together over high heat, stirring and tossing rapidly, to emulsify the oil with the starchy pasta water. Some drizzle of fresh olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, and little-minced parsley reintroduces its uncooked, fruity flavor to the core. The olives, zucchinis, and chicken are the extras that make sure you are ready for one of the most memorable meals of your life.
Take a bite, and you will hear God saying, "Let there be light".

Read moreLocation : 5/5 - this is a small place located in aundh in front of Croma. Easy to reach, the google location is exact. Its on the main road too. The most important thing was the lane has parallel parking thus you can park just on the roadside… as most of the streets in pune have boards of no parking this road had a board of park here!!! Which was surprising! :D
Ambience: 5/5 - even though its a small place they have maintained the ambience by putting up nice lights and plants. The plants which will help the place to create a kind of division from the other restaurants besides it makes you feel really nice and doesn’t give a feel that you are sitting at a crowded location surrounded by people.
Another thing I noticed is that even though the space is less they have utilised it in a great way to accommodate many people.
The seating chairs and tables are comfortable and looks nice too!
Service : 5/5 - Amazing service! The service is managed by few waiters and the manager. Once they saw we were settled at our place they gave us 2 minutes and then got us both the menu to choose from rather than the traditional way of giving one menu per table, which helped in making faster decisions.
The person who took or order was polite, helpful and gave proper information.
They got our orders and plates along with required cutlery at the right times!
Once we were done eating our food, the manager also came to check on us if we liked the food and need anything else.
We also told them that we dont want capsicum/ bell peppers in anything for one person and they ensured that they didnt serve it to him.
Food and beverages : 5/5 - We ordered beverages like pink lemonade soda and watermelon mojito and both were served before food unlike few restaurants where the drinks come after food! The taste was really good!!
We ordered a baguette which was served in a way thats easier to eat between 2 people along with a quick little salad.
We ordered 2 mains which were 1.grilled chicken steak with brown sauce served with sautéed veggies and herbed rice 2. Thai red chicken curry.
Both the mains were absolutely delicious!
Amazing quality and taste! The chef must really love cooking and knows how to do it too!! Kudos to the chef!
Value for money : 5/5 - even after having our tummies full we only had to pay 500-600 rupees per person for a wonderful complete dinner along with drinks!
I absolutely recommend people to go here to enjoy the food and ambience and service!

Read moreMy thoughts on The Blue Plate, Aundh.
I have been hearing about this place from my close foodie friends for months and impromptu we all decided to visit this place for dinner today.
A BIG thumbs up to this place and the owner Pratek!!
Being a fan of bread, this place just took bread toppings to a whole different palatable level!!
SOUPS:
Stock Water with Fried Onions Soup -
Honestly when my friend ordered this soup, it sounded a bit blah to me.. When it came, the look of it also was hospitalish.. but like they say 'Don't judge a book from its cover', once I tasted it, the flavours were just magnificent!! Vegetable stock with the hit of the brown onions was brilliant.
Tomato Basil Soup with Soggy Bread Cubes -
The tomato and basil combination was absolutely spot on.. the tangy tomato and leafy flavour from the basil made it a great soup. A special mention of those soggy bread cubes.. Absolutely delicious!! Ordered an extra plate of just that.
STARTERS
Spicy Portuguese Chicken Skewers -
My absolute favorate dish of the day by a mile!! This spicy dish was just full of flavour and that red peanut sauce was the ruler of this dish. Tender chicken pieces marinated in that red peanut sauce just made this the best dish for our meal today.
Butter Garlic Mushrooms -
Well cooked mushrooms with a generous amount of Garlic butter sauce was great on a already fired up pallet.
FLAT BREADS - MAINS
Since I am die hard fan of bread, I thoroughly enjoyed and relished each and every slice of the flat bread and their various toppings!! There was not a single flat bread item I didn't like or found even average. Excellently cooked and crunchy!!
DESSERTS
Since the owner has a background with custards from his previous venture Cafe De Custard, there was no question anything could go wrong with it.
The Hazelnut Custard cooled down this extremely active pallet of mine and actually gave it a smooth twist.
At the end of the day, a satisfying meal is what I look out for which has that unique touch to it. Great job by team the blue plate and Pratek. Your hospitality was top...
