Maso Multicuisine Restaurant!
#MultiCuisine #Delighted
Maso formerly Known as PGI restaurant is located in Nana Peth and is a multi-cuisine restaurant. The new management has taken over this place recently. They serve a la carte during the regular lunch and dinner hours along with few non veg thalis which are served only during the lunch time. I was lucky enough to explore few dishes from this restaurant.
Starters
Bombil Rawa & Surmai Tawa: Both preparation were exceptionally done, the bombil rawa fry had a nice crispy coating and had minimal traces of oil, on the other hand Surmai tawa fry had a nice spicy-tangy masala marination which was truly flavorful. The Bombil and Surmai used in the preparation were super fresh. #Musthave
Tandoori Pomfret: A huge sized whole pomfret done in tandoori masala was one of the best tandoori sea food preparations which I have had; superb tandoori marination with a nice hint of Smokey flavor. #Musthave.
Chicken Banjara Kebab: Truly a melt in mouth dish, boneless chicken kebab with flavorful marination and perfectly cooked juicy chicken pieces! #Highlyrecommended
Chicken Wings: Jumbo Chicken wings done in balanced sweet spicy and tangy sauce were extremely juicy and excellent in taste. #Amazing
Main Course
Chicken Thali & Prawns Thali: Chicken thali consists of Chicken Curry, Chicken Fry, Egg Masala, 2 Chapatis, Steam Rice, Papad and a portion of solkadi, whereas the Prawns thali consists of Goan Style Prawns Curry, Prawns Fry, Prawns XecXec (by defaukt clams XecXec is served in the seafood thali), Steam Rice, Papad, Chapatis and Portion of Solkadhi. Both Thalis were nicely done but for me SEAFOOD THALI was highlight of the day and is #Musthave
Dal Makhni Combo: The combo had a portion Dal Makhni served along with assorted breads, the dal makhani had noticeable punch of spices which I haven’t seen at all places which I have tried till date, it was rich, creamy and impressive! #Highlyrecommended
Butter Chicken: Grilled boneless chicken pieces done in a smooth and buttery-creamy gravy was also worthy. It was slightly sweet in taste.
Green Thai Curry Veg: Assorted veggies done in rich and aromatic coconut based curry with Thai spices was served along with garlic rice and was nicely done. #Recommended
Overall: The food quality served over here is superb and pricing is pretty reasonable, IMHO the Thalis are priced quite low and are one of the best priced seafood meals I have seen in Pune. The restaurant has a decent ambience with comfortable seating space along with separate area for family crowd. Do give it a try!

Read moreThe most lovely things about this place is authentic coastal taste with fresh sea food and the seating option available for a group of upto 4 people with an indian seating with a short height table and that too with separate compartments for privacy kind of feeling but this in the Smoking Allowed zone. Separate family section with No Smoking zone. This all with a good options in alcoholic beverages. Along with regular Roti/Chapati/Naan an option of Neer Dosa, Ghavan which are more suitable with the coastal food. Options of Goan, Malvani, Konkani style in gravy. Availability of Chinese, Punjabi food for its lovers. Option of Surmai/Pomphret/Prawns Thali for those who prefer variety in their meal. Thali comes with refreshing Solkadhi and 2 pieces of Bombil (Bombay Duck) Fry. I tried their Goan curry which was absolutely lip smacking. I really felt sorry that I had drinks and starters because of which my stomach didn't allow me to eat as much as I wanted to. So next time No mistake of having drinks and starters at all. Property is recently renovated so ambience is also very fresh with...
Read moreAwesome ambiance, specially in the evening hours and equally great food and choice of spirits to go along. While ordering food, ask for recommendations from the captain/waiter for the most yummiest and freshest sea food. Highly recommend to try sea food or non vegetarian options. Not recommended to order cocktails, go for high spirits or the choice of beers.
Parking maybe an issue. Although they claim to be a family restaurant, not recommend to get kids along due to the second hand tobacco smoke by patrons and lack of a kids menu.
Bit of concern, the outdoor seating is entirely decorated with flammable materials and there's no visible fire fighting equipments. In the event of a fire, the place may go up in flames in minutes. That's a huge set back and hence I am giving 3 star rating for a place that deserves 5...
