Pizza Express Pune: A Slice of Pure Joy! (Kopa Mall) If you're looking for an authentic, vibrant, and utterly delicious Italian experience in Pune, look no further than Pizza Express at Kopa Mall. From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere, punctuated by the delightful sight of the chefs working their magic in the open kitchen. Let's talk about the food, shall we? It was, quite simply, the best. My pepperoni pizza was a masterpiece – the crust perfectly thin and crispy, the sauce bursting with flavour, and the pepperoni packing just the right amount of spice. Every bite was a testament to the quality of ingredients and the skill of the chefs. My mother, who is a discerning pasta lover, declared the penne in cream pasta to be absolutely divine. The creamy sauce was rich and velvety, and the pasta cooked to perfection. And oh, the beverages! The coffee was robust and aromatic, and the milkshake was a creamy, decadent treat. It was the perfect complement to our meal. But what truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service. Ashton, our host, was simply the best. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had a memorable time. His warm smile and helpful recommendations made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. The lively atmosphere created by the jolly chefs in the open kitchen added an extra layer of enjoyment. Watching them expertly craft our pizzas and pasta was like witnessing a culinary performance. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear they take immense pride in their work. This wasn't just a meal; it was an experience. Pizza Express Pune at Kopa Mall has consistently delivered exceptional food and service, and this visit was no exception. It's a place where you can relax, enjoy delicious food, and create lasting memories with your loved ones. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. Highly recommended! We can't...

I visited PizzaExpress at Kopa Mall at 10:30 PM, comfortably within the restaurant’s listed closing time of 11:30 PM on Google Maps. Despite this, the waiter informed me that only pizzas were available and insisted I hurry up with my order—clearly more interested in closing shop than serving customers.
Sensing their disinterest, I ordered a BBQ Paneer Calzone instead of a pizza. What arrived was an absolute disaster. The calzone was burnt, and in a pathetic attempt to cover it up, the kitchen had simply dumped grated cheese on top of the charred crust. The paneer inside tasted raw, almost as if it had just come out of a cold container. The base was thick, hard, and unchewable, a result of being overcooked or neglected in the oven.
When I complained, the waiter told me he would bring the manager. The manager never showed up, leaving me feeling miserable. No apology, no explanation—just silent indifference. If this is the level of service being offered, then PizzaExpress might as well close earlier. The staff clearly don’t care and it shows.
To make things worse, this experience only reminded me of why I despised this mall back in 2016–17, when its food options were just as terrible. Even though Kopa Mall was renovated in 2024, the substandard dining experience at PizzaExpress makes it feel like nothing has improved at all.
Final Verdict: Avoid It
Between the apathetic staff, the unacceptable food quality, and the complete lack of accountability, PizzaExpress at Kopa Mall has become a place I will never return to. My experience here was quite awful. A shiny mall renovation means nothing if the restaurants inside continue to deliver burnt food and...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews, but after my recent experiences with this outlet, I felt compelled to share my feedback—especially since I previously gave it a 5-star rating because I genuinely liked the food.
A few weeks ago, I visited around closing time. I was the only customer, and it still took 30–40 minutes to get a single 10-inch pizza. The staff mentioned most of the team had already left, which I understood and let go.
However, during my most recent visit, things were even more disappointing. After placing an order for just two items, we waited over 70 minutes without receiving our food. I kept following up with the staff, and every time I was told, “Just 2 more minutes.” Eventually, when I asked them to cancel the order because we couldn’t wait any longer, they suddenly brought out just one item—after all that time. It was incredibly frustrating.
I wasn’t the only one unhappy. Other customers were visibly irritated and even asked to cancel their orders too. My honest question to the outlet’s owner is: Do you expect customers to spend their whole day waiting in your store just to eat? Why is there always a staff shortage? During my visit, only two staff members were managing everything—taking orders and serving tables.
Another issue that really bothers me (and I’ve noticed this in many restaurants) is the automatic habit of serving drinks first—without even asking the customer if they want them right away. Why not confirm first, especially when food service is running so late?
Again, I’m only sharing this because I believe in giving constructive feedback and I want this place to improve. The food has always been good, but no matter how great the taste is, poor service will drive...
