Sainath Khanawal in Pune is a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates authentic non-vegetarian cuisine, particularly their chicken dishes. Nestled in a modest setting, this place might not boast a luxurious ambiance, but what it lacks in decor, it more than makes up for in flavor and quality.

The moment you walk in, you are greeted by the rich aroma of spices and sizzling meats, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The menu is straightforward, with a focus on traditional Maharashtrian non-veg dishes, especially chicken. I had the pleasure of trying their signature chicken thali, which included succulent pieces of chicken cooked to perfection, served with a variety of accompaniments like bhakri, rice, and sol kadhi. Each dish was bursting with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care.

What really sets Sainath Khanawal apart is the consistency in the taste and the authenticity of their recipes. The chicken curry, in particular, stood out for its perfectly balanced spices, tender meat, and the rich, thick gravy that is best enjoyed with their soft bhakris. They also offer other non-veg delights like mutton and fish, which are equally impressive and worth trying.

The service is prompt and the staff are friendly, making you feel at home. The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes, making it a great value for money.

The only downside is that the place can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, so it’s advisable to arrive early or be prepared to wait. However, the wait is well worth it.

Overall, Sainath Khanawal is a must-visit for anyone in Pune who loves non-veg food, especially chicken. The authentic flavors, hearty portions, and affordable prices make it a favorite among locals and a place I will...

Sainath Khanawal is a popular, go-to eatery in the Lakdi Pul area, known for serving authentic Maharashtrian meals at very reasonable prices.

Ambience & Space: The restaurant has a modest, no-frills setup with a focus on functionality over aesthetics. The seating space is somewhat limited, with basic wooden tables and chairs arranged closely together. During peak hours, especially lunchtime, it can get quite crowded. If you're someone who prefers a quieter dining experience, visiting during off-peak hours might be a better option. Despite the compact space, the area is kept clean, and the turnover is quick, so you won't have to wait too long for a seat.

Service & Hygiene: The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring that you’re served promptly. The service is straightforward without unnecessary formalities. Though the space may not be the most spacious, it’s kept hygienic, and the quick service ensures that tables are cleaned and reset promptly for the next batch of customers.

Food: The star of the show here is the food—simple, flavorful, and reminiscent of home-cooked Maharashtrian meals. The thalis are hearty, with a variety of options like pithla-bhakri, sabudana khichdi, and poha.

Pricing: Affordably priced, making it an ideal choice for students, office-goers, or anyone looking for a satisfying meal on a budget.

Conclusion: While Sainath Khanawal might not offer spacious seating or a luxurious ambiance, it more than makes up for it with its delicious, homely food and budget-friendly prices. It’s a place to visit if you prioritize taste and value over...

I want to try काळ chicken because I'm from Kolhapur and we don't make it there. My brother told me about this place i was like what will taste this exactly kal chicken. If you're like me you got to try this place. I really liked this dish and this place. We went out on Saturday there was so much crowd. They let us in after 15 minutes. After we got in there we ordered chicken thali. They serve kala rassa kal chicken plate bhakri or chapati onion and lemon and lastly rice Kal chicken gravy plate has so many chicken pieces in it. They serve chicken leg pieces on every plate. Chicken was tasty, firm and well cooked. I really love it. Gravy was also tasteful Rassa was a little thicker than Kolhapuri rassa this is how they make it but i liked it. Rassa has a taste in it and chicken stock. In many restaurants there is so much watery taste but here it hasn't. Bhakri and chapati was an option there. Bhajara bhakri is available. I like the jawar one but with chicken bajara bhakri goes better with it. They serve unlimited rice and bhakri so this thali makes you full. Indrayani rice was there. It was less watery than the minal restaurant which works for me. It was a really good experience for me. Maybe I'm sitting here in the office writing a review but in my mind i am at sainath khanawal for sure haha. Every non veg lover should try this place
