We landed here 'coz this place got covered in Pune Mirror as one of the 4 oldest places serving Misal in Pune.
The location Just follow Google maps and when you are about 10-20 metres away, ask a bystander. As this is a corner shop , u might miss it if you're in a vehicle. This is a 2 storeyed place with no seating on the ground floor. So when u first look at the place from outside, it may seem that the restaurant isn't open. So simply go upstairs and u will find the serving and seating area.
Parking If you are in a two wheeler, u will find parking in the narrow lane opposite the restaurant. As we went in the morning, we found sufficient parking for easily 10 two wheelers
The ambience We visited the place at around 7:45 in the morning. We were greeted by a very peaceful ambience. The seating is arranged in such a way that not more than 2 guests can sit together. That automatically controls the decibel levels. Plus the owners and staff have defined the processes the ordering, reordering, billing and table cleaning so well, there is hardly any room for confusion. 4 words to sum up the ambience - quiet, homely, efficient and clean.
The food They serve 4 items primarily :
We loved the misal! It was not spicy but yet it was refreshingly different and flavourful. Easily could have been made by a friend's aaji at home. As this was Pohe Misal, there was no matki in it. Light on stomach and a wholesome hearty plate of food ❤️ The taak was simple , lightly salted with no condiments or herbs. The Kanda bhaaji was crispy outside n soft inside. Your teeth simply sinks into them. The sheera was nice. Not diabetic sweet!
Special mentions : As soon as u enter the place, u find a wall where washed Chitale milk bags are neatly arranged in a rectangle. It felt so good to see that and realize that they don't just dump their waste in bins but carefully send them to the recyclers.
The slices of bread used are not from the run of mill Wibbs or Britannias of the world. They are freshly baked at a local bakery and delivered without any packaging this generating zero packaging waste ❤️
All in all, this cozy place won our hearts and earned its place among our top places to visit in...
Read moreIf you're looking for a place that embodies pure greed, discomfort, and utter disappointment, look no further than ShiKrushna Bhuvan – a pathetic excuse for a eatery that's more like a torture chamber than a restaurant. From the moment you step in, misery oozes from every dingy corner, sucking the joy out of what should be a simple meal. This place is a blatant scam, preying on nostalgia with its "old-school" vibe that attracts clueless elderly folks who probably don't know any better. But let me warn you: don't be fooled. It's a greedy operation run by miserly staff who treat customers like beggars. Let's start with the so-called "misal" – if you can even call it that. What a joke! They slap together a watery slop of masala and nothing else, charging an outrageous 110 bucks for a tiny vati of rassa and two measly breads. Where's the content? The substance? It's like they're serving spiced tap water and expecting you to thank them for the privilege. Absolute highway robbery! These stingy owners must be laughing all the way to the bank, skimping on ingredients while jacking up prices to fleece every last rupee from your wallet. And the seating? Pathetic doesn't even begin to cover it. Tiny tables crammed so close that only two people can sit, forced to stare into each other's faces like unwilling clowns in a circus sideshow. Who designed this nightmare – a sadist? It kills any chance of conversation or relaxation; instead, you feel trapped in a awkward, claustrophobic hell. Add to that the self-service nonsense, which completely obliterates whatever scraps of ambience this dump might have had. No servers, no hospitality – just grab your slop like a prisoner in a chow line. It screams cheapness and laziness from the top down. This place isn't just bad; it's an insult to anyone with taste buds or self-respect. The only reason it survives is because of habit-bound old-timers shuffling in out of routine, oblivious to how they're being exploited. Misery drips from the walls, the food, and the service – or lack thereof. Do yourself a favor: steer clear of ShiKrushna Bhuvan like the plague. There are a million better spots where you won't feel robbed and humiliated. Zero stars – if I could give...

ShriKrishna Bhuvan is undoubtedly one of the most iconic places for authentic Maharashtrian-style misal pav. Located in a cozy spot, this establishment has been serving mouthwatering dishes for over three to four decades, maintaining a legacy that the Joshi family proudly carries forward.
The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the aroma of freshly ground spices that promise an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Their misal pav is the star of the menu – a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Unlike other versions that can be overly oily, ShriKrishna Bhuvan’s misal is made with less oil but doesn’t compromise on taste. The authentic masala blend, infused with just the right amount of ginger and black pepper, creates a harmonious burst of flavors. A dash of lemon elevates the dish, adding a refreshing tang that pairs beautifully with the freshly baked slices of bread served alongside.
What truly sets this place apart is the quality of ingredients. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the spices to the garnishes. The bread is soft and warm, complementing the spicy misal perfectly.
For those who wish to explore beyond misal, the menu also offers delectable options like batata bhaji, kanda bhaji, and soothing buttermilk. Each dish reflects the same dedication to authenticity and flavor that ShriKrishna Bhuvan is renowned for.
The ambiance is simple yet welcoming, creating a homely vibe that transports you straight to the heart of Maharashtra. The service is prompt, and the staff is courteous, making your visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, ShriKrishna Bhuvan is not just a restaurant; it’s a legacy of Joshi family and a celebration of Maharashtrian cuisine. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to savor authentic misal pav and other traditional delicacies. Highly...
