Highlight of the place- It has the name of all the Irani cafes in Pune jotted out on it's wall. The walls of the top floor are painted brilliantly and often is the reason of me going there.
Best for - Breakfast/Brunch
Ambiance- Feels like the core of the city. It has something authentic about it. Something grounded and strong. I hope I did some just explaining the feelings related to the cafe.
Services- Not too bad, not too good. Quick serving of food, though.
Food- One of my favourite breakfast places. Everything is simple, fulfilling and tastes like morning itself. We ordered-
Bun Muska Jam- My favvvoouurrriittteeee! So creamy, so jamy, so buttery. Melts in the mouth. Takes yuuummmm. It there was something like feel good taste- this would be it!
Cheese Croissant- Might as well ignore it, hehe. It was kinda bad.
Cheese Sandwich- Simple, cheesy and how! Might want to give it a try.
Coffee & Tea- I like their coffee more than their tea. Chai kadak hona mangta hai. Coffee was not too bad.
Veg Cutlet- For some nostalgic reason I love train ke cutlet and have never been able to get over them. These were nice but they tasted a lot like maggi masala or wai wai masala or atleast some instant noodles masala. I am not a fan but my friend loved it- if that's any help.
Cheese Chilli Grilled Sandwich- I lovvveeeee it! A must try!! This sandwich was every bit of cheese and chilly you'd ever get. It was simple and delicious. Caution- Might be a bit spicier than normal.
The place itself is a bit stuffy and I have been to better looking Irani Cafes but the taste remains the same if that's what matters....

Mutton Keema with Broon and sweet bun Was a little oily as compared to what I have had in the past. However taste was good and enjoyed the broon after more than a decade.
Irani Fresh Lime When placing the order I was specific in informing the steward that to make it salted. However, the drink tasted sweet and salted.
I called him to ask why it’s sweet. A careless and casual answer - Both Salt and sugar are kept mixed in the kitchen.
I told the steward to replace it or take it back but he gave me that look that I drink it or just pay for it without drinking. He said it cannot be replaced without paying an additional charge for a new drink.
Complained to the cashier. He told the steward that why couldn’t you give a salted Fresh Lime when it is available and it has been give to other customers. Same casual answer as above that both sugar and salt are kept mixed at the back.
Bottom line - In the above scenario fo the beverage, was there no salt at all in the kitchen. The owner of Irani Cafe as a brand or the franchisee owner might know how to run the business successfully but need to arrange for skill training on how to train their staff to interact with customers or how to be customer friendly. Let alone listening to what the...
Read moreService was very nice. I tried bun maska, keema ghotala & Irani chai. The taste and quality was wonderful All it takes is red-checkered table cloths held down by glass, surrounded by the buzz of chit chat of people from far and near, wall hangings of antiques, portraits from the past and more, for it to smell like nostalgia, your old friend. Irani Cafe was founded by the joy of cooking and serving, by two cousins, Mr. Reza and Mr. Kasem. As a child, Reza would always head to the bakery 'bhatti' and take great interest in the making of products, and what went on behind the intricate Iranian designs of the walls. After completing his masters from New Castle University, Kasem was keen to come back home and pursue his calling. Hospitality has always been in our blood. Our forefathers migrated to India and since inception, got into the business of running cafes. Serving refreshing tea and bakery items was their forte. This kept passing from generation to generation and we had the inspiration in us to start a new age Irani Cafe. Thus, the idea was born in 2016. Irani Cafe is a tasty tribute to the vanishing establishment of bun, broon and Bentwood chairs, with a bill to match an era gone by. In the early days, Kasem and Reza would begin their day at 5:00 in the morning, head to the bakery and ensure the buns would reach in time for the cafe to...
