M.G. Road is the heart of the city and somehow I'm really fond of this street. I've been shopping, eating, roaming on these streets since I was a baby. I've almost tried all the eateries in the vicinity and the other day when I came across this new place on M.G. Road, I was keen on trying the food and stopped by immediately. So without any further ado, let's see what I had at Yumma Swami :

Malagapudi Ghee Dosa - Okay I'm not a ghee person. Like I wouldn't eat ghee at any cost but here the server assured me that this is delish stuff and I trusted the guy's recommendation and called for it. The dosa was simple yet delicious.

Ghee Masala Idli - Again I had my doubts when he suggested this one. The idli is huge. Like one huge idli with lots and lots of masala or podi on top and lots of ghee. The podi is the soul of the dish. The idli is super soft and the podi works its magic like crazy. Just add it to anything and you have a bomb.com dish ready. Loved it.

Karipatta Paniyaram - I am somehow not fond of paniyaram. And this one was loaded with karipatta and dill leaves which I am not sure if I like or no.

Mixed Veg Korma - Mixed veg korma be my favorite. This is basically veg stew loaded with veggies like carrots, beans, cauliflower. Just pair it with appam and you are good to go.

Kerala Pepper Mushroom - Addictive is the word! Mushrooms tossed with spices was simply delicious. One can just have it by itself, it's that good. A must must must try dish at Yumma Swami.

Swami Sapadam - This is a humungous thali which comes with a portion of rice, papad, achaar, sheera, chaas, beetroot bhaji, potato bhaji and lot many things. I'd recommend you to try this only if you are super hungry.

Filter Coffee Brownie - Bomb brownie with a coffee flavour topped with chocolate cream makes for an excellent dessert.

Yelneer Payasam - Payasam be my favorite ❤

Baked Badami Mango - This is basically baked yogurt with mango and topped with badam slivers. This was pretty decent.

Overall, wanna kill chhoti chhoti bhook, head to Yumma Swami. I love this place...

Yumma Swami is a new South-Indian restaurant located opposite SGS mall, Moledina road in Camp. They serve variety of dosa, idli, uttapam, appam and curries. The ambiance is simple.

Coming to food, we had:

Ghee Masala Idli: One huge idli with podi masala and ghee on top and served with two type of chutneys. The idli was so soft and the masala made the simple idli so delicious. #musttry

Malagapudi Ghee Dosa: Plain dosa with podi masala and ghee spread inside. The dosa was so crispy and so tasty. #musttry

Karipatta Paniyaram: The paniyaram with lots of curry leaves was so soft and yummy. It was served with coconut and tomato chutney.

Onion Uttappam: Onion uttapam served with sambhar and chutney was so tasty.

Ghee Masala Appam: Appam was crispy from the outside and soft in middle with podi masala and ghee spread all over. It was so delicious. #musttry

Mixed Veg Korma: This coconut based mix vegetable curry was good and tasted even better with appam.

Kerala Pepper Mushroom: This little bit spicy mushroom gravy was so delicious. You can simply eat it or try it with appam. #musttry

Ghee Mysore Dosa: The stuffing was different than we usually get in dosa. It had beetroot and carrot filling. It was good.

Sapadam: This humongous thali consisted legumes sabji, methi sabji, korma, beetroot sabji, rasam, sambhar, steamed rice, bisibele bhaat, roti, pineapple sheera, appalam, koshambiri, pickle and chaas. A must try if you are hungry.

Filter Coffee Brownie: Delicious coffee flavoured brownie topped with chocolate ganache, drizzled with white chocolate and topped with mint leaves. #musttry

Payasam: Traditional rice kheer served in earthen dish topped with almond and pistachios. It was yummy.

Baked Badami Mango: This was mango almond yoghurt based dessert served in a cute jar. It was topped with almond and mint leaf.

Filter Coffee: We finished our meal with a strong glass of filter coffee.

Overall it's a must try South Indian place for delicious South Indian food. I would visit again soon to try appam, dosa and filter...

To start with let me give this resturant a 5* for the food, undoubtedly among the best south idian food in Pune go to any of their branches and you will get the same unique delicious food.

Now one will wonder why I gave them 1* so this review is mainly for the resturant owner I hope they do read the reviews or else there isnt another way to put a customers feedback across their own staff isnt going to pass on their own criticism to the owner.

I usually drop in to your resturant for breakfast on weekends, even though the timing is 8.00 am onwards but at 8 am one will find only 70% of the shutter open which is a good sign the resturant isnt ready to serve to make it simple the waiter has never approached the customer before 8:15 to take the order they are still busy lighting up incense.

I see some new faces in the front end for customer service I remember the old so called manager who was also a slow motion chap and so was his supporting team, even now it feels exactly the same the current team is also slow in motion, you don:t hear them exchange words or communicate with each other at all which is another sign that there is no team play at all no one is in sync with each other they all working independantly.

If this was my resturant I would really be worried only buz I know its always a challenge to find great chefs who have ability to make exceptional food which the kitchen team certainly do, with th right team in the front end and quick service they should be having the kind of que that you find outside Vaishali on J.M Road as their food is any given day tastier than Vaishali or any other Dosa joint in city.

My only reason to write this long review is so that this message reaches the right person who will have a genuine impact and take control of the service at the resturant and I am a user and I will continue to come here only buz I...

Yummaswami is Camp's latest offering to Pune. It is a South Indian speciality restaurant which dishes out amazing idlis, vadas, appams and many more South Indian delights. Located next to Coffee House (opposite SGS Mall), Yumma swami is a great addition. I was there last week and tried a few of their offerings and below are the ones which I really loved. -- Sapadam Thali - Authentic South Indian Thali served with Puri and rice. There was so much to eat. Difficult for one person to finish. --Rawa Masala Dosa - was really crunchy and I loved the sambar and chutney that accompanied it. --Ghee Roast Dosa - Dark brown is the color I like my dosas to be. Really crucnchy and very nice ghee flavour to it. -- Pepper Mushroom with Appam - This was the highlight of the evening for me. I am a mushroom lover and really loved the gravy. Will definitely re-visit for this. -- Ragi Dosa - for all the health conscious people. Taste was good. -- Another gem was Podi Idli. The idli is soft and huge and the podi on top is absolutely authentic. Loved it!! -- I loved the cold coffee, it had a nice bitter taste and to cut it it was made a bit sweet. A bit expensive but then you have to pay for good coffee. -- Badam Milk was also very tasty. My son liked it. -- Badami Mango was a dessert which you should definitely try. Kind of mango + almond shrikhand but not quite that. Something different. Overall a very good place for South Indian food lovers.
