A lovely lil' idli, coffee & tea joint that serves home styled food. Simple yet delicious. After a long time I felt so satisfied after eating at this place today. So what we tried were,
PLAIN VADAI with yummy chutney. It's crisp, small n pairs so well with their slightly thick coconut chutney which tasted so good. RASAM VADAI, a unique yet nice one. PODI IDLI, man it was soooooo good. Their Coconut idli podi is love. Then their KICHADI, literally made to perfection. This is exactly how a kichadi is made. Simple, very light & tastes great. KESARI - I've never enjoyed Kesari like I did for this one here. It was so delicious. ROSE MILK - Perfect refresher for a summer day. Sweet, cold n flavourful. PALKOVA MILK - Served hot & it was extremely tasty. Mild in sweetness n it has my heart ❤️ BUTTER IDLI - Butter smeared on idli n served with their super yum coconut chutney. Perfect & smooth. Such a unique & a beautiful combination. SAMBAR IDLI - We were so lucky to get to try this before even they added it in their menu. It's officially getting launched only tomorrow. Trust me, theirs is a BRILLIANT sambar. It tastes excellent👌🏻 we loved it. Made with completely homemade masala n spices, it gives a touch of moms flavour. GULKAND MILK - Served both cold n hot, this one was sooooo yum. Not so strong like the normal gulkand drinks, this was mild n tasted rich at the same time. DARK & WHITE CHOCOLATE BISCUP TEA - We tried the ginger tea n I personally felt that the flavour of ginger was slightly strong in the tea. For some, it'll be a good thing. For some, they might find it as too much. Depends on individuals preference anyway. And trying it in their biscup was such a cute n a lovely experience. The white chocolate flavour was lip smacking good. After u drink it u eat the cup, it's interesting. The Biscuit cup was so crisp n tasted soo good with chocolate smeared inside.
On the whole, our tummy was happy after dining here. Can't wait...
Read moreI was immediately struck by the pleasant ambience. The decor exuded a cozy charm, perfect for a casual dining experience. However, as the scorching summer heat made its presence felt, the absence of adequate cooling left much to be desired. A ceiling fan struggled to provide relief, but a more robust cooling system would have been appreciated, especially during these hot months.
Onto the culinary delights: the Nongu rosemilk was undoubtedly the star of the show. Its unique flavor profile and refreshing taste provided a much-needed respite from the heat. Each sip was a delightful experience, and I found myself wishing for an endless supply.
The hot chocolate, while good, didn't quite reach the same heights as the Nongu rosemilk. It was comforting and satisfying but lacked the wow factor that the milkshake delivered.
In summary, Gowra's offers a pleasant ambience and some standout items like the Nongu rosemilk. However, improvements in temperature control would elevate the overall dining experience. It's a place worth trying for its unique offerings, but be sure to bring a summer fan along for...
Read moreHad dinner at Gowra's idli and coffee shop in RS puram yesterday after seeing few +ve posts in CFG... Only limited items , just idli, kesari ,Rasa vadai and kichadi which had only coconut chutney as a side dish and they said it's Bangalorian style.. idlis were soft and chutney is ok .... We can't compare with any Bangalore hotel taste .. it's very normal ... They charged Rs.35 (half a spoon of butter added) ... I felt it's over priced as no other side dishes provided ... All leading shops with many dishes like sambar , Tomota chutney they are charging still less... Not understanding the reason for this 35rs ... They could increase one more idli for this price... Also the kichadi is prepared in electric stove for several times based on the orders ... Taking time and also the taste is dynamic in this case, idli tray is not enough to manage more inflow crowd ,they need to consider all these and try to improve for long...
