Overall, the experience was absolutely amazing. Even before tasting the food, the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I had a feeling it was going to be the best—and it truly was.
We started with soups and a few vegetarian starters like momos and paneer. We were four people, each trying a different soup, and I ended up sipping from everyone’s bowl. Every single one was incredible! At first, when you hold a spoonful, the soup looks light and watery, but the moment you take a sip—wow—the spices make it feel rich and full of flavor. If you’re ever feeling under the weather, I strongly recommend their lemon coriander soup. It’s comfort in a bowl.
The service was perfectly timed. As soon as we finished half our soup bowls, the momos and paneer arrived—not too early, not too late. I’m usually not a big momo fan, but their pan-fried momos completely won me over. The filling was just perfect. Once we finished the starters, the staff promptly cleaned the table and served our main course, ensuring everything was enjoyed hot and fresh.
By the time the garlic noodles arrived, I was already a fan of this place. But those noodles deserve a special mention—they’re truly a work of art. Neither too thick nor too thin, each strand was perfectly uniform. Taking a bite felt like receiving a warm hug from food itself.
I really want to thank the chefs for crafting the dishes, especially the noodles, with such care and perfection. This place has definitely won me over, and I’ll be...
Read moreWithout a doubt one the best Chinese restaurants in Chennai and the beacon light of Anna Nagar !!!! Do not get doubts creep in about the simple Chinese decor and ambiance of Kim Ling. They are clean and smell good. Their strength is their food and that they dole it out in style. I have been eating out of their palms for the last 22 years. Not once was I disappointed. In most cases of old restaurants around the world i can say that they all start with a bang and end with a whimper but that does not seem to be Kim Ling's style.
Kim Ling started as a very humble place and then over 22 years they have only taken up the ante in style. As mentioned earlier it is their USP is their food which they dish out . They have magically managed to keep up the quality, service and price on an even keel for more than 2 decades. Clearly the management has done a wonderful job. My kudos to their management style. I feel that they have to take their branding to the next level they must "further improve" their interiors, decor and ambience. This is surely one way to be fair to the food they serve.
Their Pok Choy, Gai Rod, Kuchow Fish, Koithow, Thukpa and Mei Fun are my favourites. It is also a good and wise idea to get recommendations from the service people about the menu. Their service is fast & furious. May be on Saturdays their speed slows down but it is still fast. Don't miss this place on 2nd Avenue in Anna Nagar, Chennai. Highly recommended for the food and service along with...
Read moreEnjoyed an amazing Chinese feast at Kim Ling Specialty Chinese Restaurant. We began with the Crab Meat Chili Celery Soup which was flavoursome without being spicy. Next up were the juicy chicken momos and pepper chicken, both of which were excellent. The steamed chicken momos were perfectly soft and their flavours shone through the delicate steaming. The fried chicken momos provided a crunchy contrast but were also very tasty. The Cing Zing fish was another highlight.
We tried the fried ice cream for dessert but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. Ignore it.
Kim Ling has ornate Chinese decor creating charming ambience. Attentive service ensured our dishes were served hot and fast. Our total bill came to around Rs. 2000 for two persons. We used Zomato to get attractive discounts, bringing down the final amount by 15-20%.
With its genuine Chinese cuisine cooked to perfection, Kim Ling has become our new favorite Chinese restaurant. The extensive range of starters and soups cater to every non-vegetarian craving. We will be back again soon to treat our taste buds to more of their lip-smacking Chinese fare, avoiding the fried ice...
