SOS - Same Old Story — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

August 2025 report:

Parking: has limited parking for 3 cars and bike parking. We dint get a sense of availability of valet parking. Also the approach road is bit narrower than main roads

Ambience: we loved the ambience of this picture perfect place. It has snooker table for fun

Service: slow and below average. Waiters are bit rude.they should improve their service

Food: we tried mocktails , very berry was decent but passion fruit was bad. We tried lots of paneer, chicken, lamb ,prawn , shrimp, fish, pasta , pizza , fried rice dishes .

We got a sense of not so fresh meat and meat is overcooked , making it chewy. Also all fried meat dishes has the same flavour profile , I think they use the same seasonings and batter across all fried dishes ,which we dint enjoy. Only unique dish was honey chicken wings , and yes I called it unique , that’s the best this could offer . AP bowl dish was good.

Coming to desserts, they have just 3 options : biscoff, tiramisu, gulabjamun, quite less choices .

Mocktails/Juices: they have SOS virgin menu which is mocktails, we tried almost everything and everything was too watered down ,and they are charging a bomb for this watery mocktails. Totally disappointed with this category.

Overall, food was a let down

They do have alcohol bar attached and this place doesn’t allow people below 21 age

This place suits for large gatherings , groups . We went in Tuesday lunch

Overall, went for the ambiance but won’t recommend this place for food , service , parking constraints

The quality of services and food has deteriorated a lot.

Let me first start with ambience... It was too loud! We booked our valentines' date , but no meaningful conversation was possible with such loud music. I'm adding the sound level during the time I recorded for your proof. The sound intensity was far beyond the other bars I have visited for some reason.

Next comes the pathetic service. After we were seated, and before my first order came, one couple seated a little farther from speaker left.

Even though I requested the waiter to shift is there, he denied. His exact words were "bhaiyya aap wahin baito yahan hum kisi aur ko bitayenge" without looking at my face. I didn't want to spoil the mood of my wife so I left it at that.

Then, the waiter came, left a glass and a rs 60 tin can of schweppe's ginger ale for which these people charges a hefty rs 165 + tax. I'm not cribbing about the money, I'm cribbing about the service... I expect them to atleast pour it in the glass.

The jalepeno cheese balls were fine, but pasta again was quite bad honestly. Just a small portion of pasta and the creamy sauce with maybe 3-4 small pieces of zucchini. By then, I decided to leave the place and go somewhere else to...

Ambiance is very cool and they maintained well. The lights, deco, and the superb songs gives you a cool Vibes. Have fun playing the snooker game.

The food is very nice, one of the best restaurants in Chennai to enjoy your special days like Birthday, anniversary, or any specific days.

Especially the starters, seriously they made it very spicy, after a long time has a yummy 😋 starters here. Had Five Spice Crispy Corn, Nachos, Chilly Chicken, Chilly Panneer, all the starters are amazing. Had a mocktail, You have many options like cocktail 🍸 mocktail short options in this place,

The service is also good, got the items on time and the team is very polite.

All of the food items that we ordered were also truly a notch above most places that I have visited in a while.

Great aesthetics and ambience with light cool music, making it a good place for both family and friends.

Location is also easy to access. Must visit restaurants where you will enjoy your day with friends or family here. I had a great experience on...
