Nimtho is one of the most famous restaurants in Gangtok. I was amazed at the decoration of the restaurant It’s not like any other food restaurant, which is overhyped. It truly deserves the compliment for serving the best dishes in Gangtok I have tried their various food But my most famous was bhuteko mutton and their Jhol Momo. The Bhuteko mutton had a very amazing charcoal flavour, and the pieces of mutton will melt in your mouth while you wanna chew on it, the flavours of the is just amazing and it cannot be described by words. You must try it once in your lifetime. Coming to the part of the jhol Momo, it is one of the best jhol momos, I have ever tried in my life. It was filled with tender and juicy meat, and it was soaked in the curry the combination of both of them is just delicious I have also tried their mutton curry, but the above mentioned items just stole my heart The pricing is on the higher side that I must agree to, but the experience the behaviour of the staff. The food will compensate for the amount you are paying must visit place if you are in Gangtok Items, I have tried 1. Bhuteko Mutton 5/5 2.jhol Momo 5/5 3. Mutton curry 3.5/5 Let’s talk about the other things 1. Cleanliness 5/5 2. Behaviour of the staff 5/5 3. Ambience 5/5

I dined here on 25th March 2023. Positive - 1. Very good ambience. Designed in traditional village style with clay models of stoves etc. 2. Value for money. 3. Delicious and Authentic Thakali, Nepali, Sikkimese, Tibetan dishes. 4. Veg, Mushroom, Chicken, Pork, Buff, Mutton etc allll options available. 5. The menu was designed well, to contain all varieties in readable and easy-to-choose and quick-decision-making format. 6. We had Thali. It had 10 items per thali to eat. Toooo good. 7. Very humble and courteous staff. They allowed us to overstay as we couldn't finish our thali by closing time. 8. Instead of wasting the too-spicy-to-eat pizza from earlier Local Cafe, we gave it to staff at Nimtho. They obliged to ensured donate it to needy. Negative - Quite crowded with families. Perhaps this is a good thing for the restaurant.

An outlet selling local cuisine with an amazing ambience coupled with great food. We loved the ambience & the manner in which the artefacts have been displayed. Tried Bhuteko Mutton (330) for starters, which was awesome. It is essentially fried mutton. Then, we tried the Thakali Mutton thali (390) & the Sikkimese Pork Thali (390) which were great. The pork & the mutton dishes were well done. We also tried the Tongba (400), which is a local fermented millet drink served in a bamboo container. It was different. Can be recharged at least three times, as only hot water needs to be added to the container to get it going again!! Therefore, can serve at least three adults. The service was okay. The place was not crowded on a weekday. A good & must try joint, if you wish to try the local & associated cuisines.

I recently visited Nimto Cafe in Gangtok and had a pleasant experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax. The food, however, may not cater to everyone's taste buds. The Thali, in particular, has a distinct flavor profile that might not appeal to those unfamiliar with Nepalese or Balinese cuisine. That being said, the flavors are interesting and complex, with various notes hitting your palate. It's definitely worth trying if you're adventurous. A must-try is the popular Nepalese fermented drink - it's a hidden gem! Overall, Nimto Cafe is a great spot to visit once, even if just for the cozy atmosphere. Don't expect conventional flavors, but be open to a unique culinary experience.

Ambience was good, staff behaviour was good but they talked me to not to choose hand pulled noodles, and insisted me to choose thupaa( a soupy noodles) instead. Which was very moderate or bellow average. The chickens on that dish was very bad, was very dry and hard to chew. I had far better thuppa at various small shops in hills. An over hyped place, but it is very Instagrammable. If you don’t want to eat good food, but spent some time In a cozy place and to click some good pictures. It is the place for you. PS. The menu was very confusing, I have ordered a dish from pickle menu, and they gave me a Dip, for that reason I had to order their tasteless steam buns, but those buns were very pretty.

We came to Nimtho by looking at the reviews to taste the local cuisine of Sikkim. Food here is good and it tasted really authentic. Main problem here is that it is highly under staffed. One lady is cleaning the tables, giving us menus, taking our orders, bringing us our food from the kitchen and everything in between. When I asked for water after waiting for about 20minutes on the table, she politely said that she has not given water on any table yet. Then after another 15mins we got water. Honestly the restaurant needs better management. I felt pity for the girl who was working there, in all the mad hurry she broke a glass. Do come here for the food and I hope their staff management improves.
