I came to Rishikesh to check out the internet in one of the Ashrams here and also to meet a friend of mine doing a few months course here. We had a great day and at the end of it decided to go to a nice space which allows us to smoke as we are smokers.. we went to a cafe, where there were some foreigners also, the guy at that cafe being an Indian treated us Indian’s by saying we are not welcome. He was a mentally colonised Indian.
Then we went around and looked for a quite place to sit and have dinner and maybe a tea/coffee, and we found the Himalayan Café, to our luck the place was empty and quiet, the host Udit is an exceptional guy and he took excellent care of us, i also happened to forget my GoPro camera and he was nice enough to have kept it safe for me ! This is the stark contrast in this country, your people hurt you but it’s also your people that take care of you. I ordered Aloo Paratha and Hummus it was delicious, he also allowed me to connect to the music system and play my favourite spiritual music, instead of the kind of people who go to Rishikesh to listen to trance music, hope they are cured soon though.
