The Monkey House Cafe — Restaurant in Uttarakhand

What can I say. There was no option for 0 star or minus rating. The restaurant is on 4th floor and it's not too easy to climb . Very steep stairs. The sitting area is fine. Then we ordered pizza and it was delicious. I had very high hopes from the restaurant.

Then we ordered pasta and it took forever for the pasta to come . And when it came it had no salt. Because it was freshly prepared we ate it. Then we got dal tadka and roti as take away.

When we started to eat that food . It was a nightmare. The pasta was bland and this dal tadka was so poisonous with salt . There was too much salt. It seems like they forgot to add salt in pasta but added salt twice in dal. And the roti was not packed well and we could not eat the hard roti. This is a pathetic experience and I don't know why people are rating them so well. They need to improve drastically. Very bad food and a bad experience....

Ganga View - Good Food quantity was lesser than expected as per price, quality was decent. Service could have been better. Ambience was ok. Need to climb high up the stairs to reach the cafe.

When we visited the cafe, the songs were playing but after some time when the only other group sitting around left, they stopped playing songs since we were the only ones there. They didnt switch on any fans/cooler for us. There was lighting issues as well, they kept switching on and off, no proper backup. So we had to ask to pack our leftover food and leave early, they didn't provide plastic forks/spoon for us to have it with.

It's at the start of Laxman jhula on the 4th floor and is basically a hostel cafe. One can have a perfect Ganga and Laxman jhula view along with rafting activity. The ambience is good and the seating is comfortable,even having a separate table with little decoration for small private gatherings. But they have a very limited menu. We ordered corn chaat and cold coffee, the cold coffee was delicious but the chaat had too much cumin in it which put off the taste of it.
