Terrible Experience at Lemon Tree Premier, Rishikesh – Avoid at All Costs!

I had an absolutely awful experience at Lemon Tree Premier, Rishikesh, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. From the moment we arrived, things started going downhill.

Check-in Disaster:

The check-in process was painfully slow, with disorganized staff who seemed clueless about our booking. We had to wait over an hour to get our room, and there was no apology or sense of urgency.

Filthy Rooms & Poor Maintenance:

When we finally got to our room, it was a complete mess—dusty furniture, stained sheets, and a bathroom that smelled absolutely foul. The sink was leaking, and the shower barely had any hot water. It felt like we were staying in a rundown motel rather than a “premier” hotel.

Rude and Unhelpful Staff:

The staff here seriously need training in basic hospitality. Any time we asked for something—extra towels, room cleaning, or even basic information—we were met with rude responses and unnecessary delays. It felt like they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging us.

Overpriced and Terrible Food:

The food at the restaurant was overpriced and disgusting. The buffet was bland, cold, and clearly not fresh. Even simple items like coffee tasted horrible. We ended up eating outside for most of our stay.

Noisy and Uncomfortable Stay:

The hotel claims to offer a peaceful environment, but in reality, it was loud and chaotic. We could hear everything from the next room, including loud conversations and TV noise late into the night. The mattress was uncomfortable, and we barely got any sleep.

False Promises & Poor Management:

The hotel advertises luxurious facilities, but nothing actually works as promised. The WiFi was terrible, the so-called “river view” was blocked by construction, and the pool was dirty. When we complained, the management didn’t care at all.

Final Verdict: DO NOT STAY HERE!

For the amount they charge, this place is a complete scam. There are way better hotels in Rishikesh that actually provide good service. Save yourself the headache and...

Our recent stay at Lemon Tree Hotel, Rishikesh was disappointing.

To begin with the positives – the rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The dinner and breakfast were truly delightful in terms of taste and quality. However, that’s where the good experience ended.

Hospitality was nearly non-existent. Despite informing them that we were travelling with two small kids, they allotted us the last room on the top floor, making it extremely inconvenient to move around. On arrival, we were simply handed over the keys at the reception with no assistance whatsoever – a first for us in a hotel of this category. Our luggage was delayed by over 30 minutes, adding to the frustration.

The location is also a letdown – situated in one of the most congested and chaotic areas of Rishikesh with no scenic view to speak of.

The biggest disappointment came in the form of staff behavior. We arrived 15 minutes late for the complimentary evening high tea and despite polite requests, the restaurant manager rudely denied even a cup of tea. The tone and attitude were unprofessional and completely lacking in basic courtesy.

Additionally, there were no activities or play area for kids, which made the stay rather dull and inconvenient for families.

To sum up, Lemon Tree Rishikesh fails to deliver on hospitality and guest comfort, and falls far short of expectations when compared with nearby competitors like Aloha on the Ganges. Would not recommend for families or those expecting a warm,...

When you book a Lemon Tree hotel and pay a premium, you would expect a premium experience and that has been lacking from the infrastructure front. That is why I deducted One Star from rating. ||Secondly, I had booked 2 Rooms (30 days prior to Check-in) and the staff initially allotted rooms in different floors. A foreigner guest in-front of us with 2 rooms were graciously given 2 adjacent rooms without him even asking. WHY IS THIS STEP-MOTHERLY TREATMENT? Still that servant of British mentality. ||After calling the manager or someone, they gave us 2 rooms in the same floor, 4 rooms apart !! That is why I deducted another star. ||We were offered a good welcome drink and then guided to our rooms.|Rooms were spacious. All amenities were present and room was well maintained. |Both rooms had bathroom drain clogging issue which led to overflow of water from the shower area to the common floor. Despite maintenance trying to get it repaired, problem persisted. ||Food was good with ample options. We went for ala-carte in place of buffet. We even spotted Mr Milind Soman at the restaurant.||The view around is not so great. The reviews that you read are about the other Lemon Tree which is by the Ganges. Here, you may get a glimpse if you go to the terrace. Rest all views are of buildings + mountains and the lawn below. ||Location is good, close to the 60's cafe and other restaurants. You have a Baskin Robbins and a few Pizzeria's right outside the hotel. ||Overall, an...

“The best staff ever!” That’s the core feeling I had while at Lemon Tree, Rishikesh. We had our breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Citrus Cafe. While the food was super, extremely friendly and hospitable staff at the cafe made it top notch, and they made us feel invited and welcome every minute. Manish, Preeti, Divyanshu, Pakiza, Archana, and Sandeep, thank you for taking such good care of our entire group! 🙏🏼 I am sure there are a few others I forgot but these names definitely stuck with me. Another incident that I felt was above and beyond — After dinner and a quick walk around Rishikesh, we were sitting and talking in the lounge. A few minutes later, we were served with glasses and bottled water without even asking for it. It was a simple but a powerful gesture to care for your guests. I don’t remember who was at the reception at the time, but what incredible care and awareness of the staff at the hotel. Let’s talk about the rooms: clean, comfortable, and with the amenities you expect. Superb!! In one of our rooms, when we requested an iron board and they did not have one to provide because they ran out of it, they offered to iron it on the house. Again, these are simple gestures, but they make you feel important and welcome! This place is definitely something I would love to come back to. Highly recommended.

During our visit to Rishikesh, we stayed at Swiss garden stay and they also own Triptos cafe below and I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and the food at Triptos cafe. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, the service was warm and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. One dish that stood out to us was the ‘chur chur naan’ It was a crispy, flaky bread stuffed with a flavorful mixture of spices and minced chicken and served with tangy chutneys, curd and Rajma curry. The combination of textures and flavors in this dish was simply irresistible. And I dint expect it to be this good. Being a South Indian now my fav dish is the chur chur naan. One must really try. But what truly made our meal memorable was the friendly people at the cafe who managed the cafe. Mr.Shivaji went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of, offering recommendations and making sure that we were satisfied with our meal. His hospitality added a personal touch to our over all experience that we truly appreciated. Overall, our experience at Triptos cafe was top-notch. If you find yourself in Rishikesh, be sure to stop by this charming cafe for a delicious meal and a warm welcome.
