Café Courtyard — Restaurant in West Bengal

My experience was not so good. Me & my husband were very hungry when we went there..and ordered Creamy Mushroom and Courtyard Pie (Chicken)..but as the set up is really small they told us that they wont be able to serve us fast. But on request they did give us plain cheese sandwich before the rest of the orders. The sandwich was okaish. Then after 20-25 mins we recieved the Creamy Mushroom.. which was again okaish..but was going better with the herbed rice (very less portion). Few minutes later the third dish came .. Courtyard Pie. We realised it tastes same as the creamy mushroom..only mushroom replaced by chicken. Though the buttered rice which came along was just awesome. But as the portion was very less we thought of ordering a Chicken Burger (non patty) but we thought they will provide a steak instead of a Patty but to our surprise its again the same preparation which we already ate in two forms.. shredded chicken tossed with bel pepper in a certain sauce. We are sure if we had ordered a chicken sandwich..we would have been served this same mixture which they change the form and serve us. We couldn't eat the burger..it was not tasty at all. We told them but they said it has got good reviews (Which we checked later in google...they were all with Patty) so they cant deduct the price..which they should have, seeing that we ordered so many things for only two of us. They saw we left if after two bites. This was the first time that this happened when a customer complains of a certain taste and they give examples of other customers. I am sure who ever has given good reviews about the burger has not eaten three of their items of the same taste back to back. And moreover... shredded chicken between two breads is sandwich and not a burger. Had high hopes when we saw the menu offerings..but really not coming back anymore. While checking other reviews..we found out, the complain about the AC not working is 9months old. Its still not working. And they said they have asked for the mechanic to come. I am sure..they are repeating it...

I have been staying in this area for long and have always wondered where to take a tea or coffee break or have some snacks in and around CB block whenever I used to pass by. Cafe Courtyard comes as a savior for people like us. I stopped by Cafe Courtyard yesterday, the first look at it from outside gives you a feel good factor. Nice European style to sooth your eye. Interior again commensurate to the first look. Nice cosy and soothing feeling. Now let's come to the primary purpose, the food and beverage. First of all the owner Sudarshana was so humble and welcoming. You feel as if it's a humane and family like touch. The chef was so helpful and even went over and above to suggest the best choice we could go for after knowing our taste bud. We were a family with kid so wanted to have something for all of us. We are not a black coffee person, but gave it a try here. I ordered Cafe Americano and my wife Cafe Moca. I have to admit I would go back here for black coffee again. My whole perception towards Black coffee changed. Moca was awesome as well. I ordered french fries for my kid and the chef was humble and accomodating to alter the standard dish as per our preference to satisfy the kid and keep it healthy. We next ordered Courtyard pie and Creamy fish dishes. Our taste buds were thrilled with delight. I can go back again and again for their pie. They are wholesome dish and comes withashed potato, rice/bread and salad along with the speciality dish. So you can definitely fulfill youself during lunch or dinner. To end it we ordered a Turkish Delight. Another marvel in their kitty. Just wow. Every bite seems to tell a story on its own. I am just amazed. 100% recommending to all. Well nothing ends without price right!! For a full course dinner with Coffee, fries, 2 main course and a dessert it was about 1100/- for a family of 3. To me it's a great value for money. The order portions just perfect for us to share. Great ambiance and corteous behaviour. To sum it up ... Don't wait just go there and feel...
